Stephen's Cleaners

I can't recall a worse experience with customer service in my life. I took an expensive blouse to STEPHEN'S CLEANERS on coit road in plano and when I got home discovered that it was cut in several places. Not fixable...however when I called to discuss with the owner, Steve, I was told straight up...""We can't do anything for you"". I asked to come in show him the shirt and he said it didn't matter...he still wouldn't do anything. He went so far as to imply that I was making it up! I went on to find a more honest cleaner in my neighborhood, but made sure they had more ethical practices than STEPHEN'S CLEANERS. more

Being a teacher, I don't have a lot of dry cleaning, but when I do have items that need to be dry cleaned, I have gone to Stephen's Cleaners at Coit and Legacy in Plano. But, that ends today. Last week, I took two pairs of pants in to be dry cleaned. One of the pairs of pants was part of a suit that I purchased for an interview. The pants came back with two tears in them...not at the seam where they could be reparied. I took them back on the following 'Saturday and was told that I wasn't a regular enough customer and that they could give me store credit. I told them that I didn't want store credit, but wanted the pants to be replaced (isn't that reasonable??) I asked to discuss with the manager/jowner and was given the name of Mikey to call...which I did today. She said that she couldn't help me and got my number for the owner to call me. When I spoke with him today, he said that he would not help me. and went so far as to tell me that he didn't believe me and that I was a liar! I can't recall a time when I was more angry or insulted. I will never go to Stephen's cleaners again and will make sure that my friends are aware of their poor business practices. more

I have been a REGULAR customer of Stephen's Cleaners (AKA:Diva Business Management Group, LLC) location at Alma and Hedgecoxe in Plano (tom thumb shopping center) for many years. I drop off an average of 5 shirts (wash and press on hangers) every week like clockwork. We also have my wife, and two children's clothes cleaned and pressed there. We have / had what is considered an open account / regular account that is ""supposed"" to receive a specified discount off the rack published rates. (This is a BIG JOKE as the ""published rate"" is not published and the discounted rate has not been charged correctly for a very long time...)\r This location and the Coit location are owned by the same person. (Steve Wanless)\r To make a long story short, we have continued to go to this place even after many incidents with damaged shirts, incorrect prices, discounts not given, no accountability, store not open during published hours... etc. because they are less than a block from the house and on the way to work. Sometimes you will go to a vendor that you don't particularly care for if they are sufficiently convenient. That is really the only criteria that they have met consistently. \r I have had clothes that were returned that had not been cleaned but you could tell had just been steam pressed and put back into clean hangers and the bag. I have had very high tickets on some days that could not be adequately explained. (They do not provide any type of itemized ticket. Ask for one some time. The response is very funny because it is absurd). \r Final straw, wife noticed that since the Guy running the store close to us had left; our clothes were costing a LOT more to get cleaned. We managed to do the reverse math by taking the total and dividing by the number of items since they were all the same. The amount was quite a bit higher than we were supposed to pay or had been paying. (As stated, you cannot get an itemized receipt). My drop-off this am began with a ""blind call"" to the main number to ask the ""rack rate"" (non-discounted) for wash and starch shirts. I was told a rate that was exactly what I knew (past conversations on the same topic) was accurate. When I dropped off my clothes, I asked the woman the rate I was paying and was told that with my discount, it would be over 20% more than it should be.\r I am really too tired of the games and this company. If you enjoy writing a blank check and pay for whatever the market rate of the day happens to be and don't mind fuzzy math and mediocre to poor service then please shop here. Me, I found a different cleaner. \r The only reason that I am taking the time to post this is to warn others that there are real pitfalls with this company and you should be careful.\r more

I took in 5 pairs of dress slacks for cleaning to their Frisco Branch. Upon pickup I noticed the garments were not cleaned. The clerk was speechless and stated they could be redone, however I would have to take them to their Plano Headquarters. This was due to their driver had already picked up from the location. I asked for my money back and she stated she could not do that. I asked to speak to the owner Steven Wanless but he was unava. I drove to the Plano Headquarters to have pants redone. I was assisted by a young female who had received ntc I was coming. She began to view the garments with stains, and I got a better look at the rest of their work. Marks & Stains everywhere. I said this is ridiculous I want my money back she said only Steve could do that and he was not their. She stated she would show the Steve due to all 5 slacks have stains and she would have them redone and personally inspect them, and I got a better look at the rest of there work. Marks & Stains everywhere. She began to put tape next to all the marks 5-7 on each leg. She stated they would be ready by 2PM the following day. I asked her to have her boss call me. She gave me a lost for words look. I stated how could all 5 of these slacks look like this I stated does this happen a lot? She replied ""No.."" The Next day I arrived at 2:45PM. The young lady went to get my garments and another young girl went over to her and they both had this terrified look on there faces. She hung the garments alongside and stated your all set. I could still see the stains through the plastic. I said hang on I can't believe this. The slacks now had even more marks and larger. I stated you know these marks did not look this bad yesterday this looks worst. Where is Steve? he did not call me? She stated Steve was not in & does not talk to customers or call customers. She stated if they had more time they could do a better job. I ask her am I being unreasonable in any way? No she replied. Look can I just have my money back.? No she replied. I called the Police stating what happened. The Plano Police Dispatcher stated they would be there shortly. The girl asked was that the Police? Yes I replied. She slammed papers on the table and walked away. Instantly an older gentleman came out and grabbed my slacks and told me to leave. He walked to the doorway asking was the car in front my car stating he was going to drop the slacks right there. Are you Steve? YES! he seamed very unstable and repeated we have nothing to talk about. I left to sit in my car waiting for the Police. The Officer listen to me first an next told me there is nothing he could do an try to stop payment by calling the bank, notify the BBB and informed me where the local courthouse was. He informed me also not to come back to this location and Steve was going to come over and do not respond. Steve states very nervously not to return to his location. I kind of chuckled like what reason would I have to... Do you think you will ever touch my clothing again.. more

Incredibly poor service and incredibly expensive. I took my clothes there 4 times and each time requested that they not leave the clamps marks on the front of my shirts. Each time they had a different excuse as to why it wasn't done. Next, they've pulled the opening hours off of the doors out front, so you're not completely sure when they open. I showed up at 7 one morning, and no one was there. So the next afternoon I stopped by and asked. The man said 7am, which I thought was odd, because at 7:10 the morning before they weren't open. I tried the same thing a few weeks later, and yet again, still nobody by 7:10. That was my last trip there. I've started going somewhere else. Every time I went there, it was the same white guy with tattoos. He mentioned one time that he needed to 'go home and smoke pot'. Brilliant.
