Best

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

Avoid at all costs! Worst experience in the world! 3/1/2007

I took my girlfriend to the Queen Mary for her birthday on a Wednesday night. We spent the night in the hotel. To begin, we stopped at the Observation Bar for a drink and an appetizer. The services was pitiful. This is the first time in 31 years that I DID NOT LEAVE A TIP! The bartenders acted as if they'd never poured a drink let alone knew how to even open a beer bottle. We waited and waited and waited for drinks. They continued to pour the wrong one's and even looked into the menu to determine how to actually make them. Even their manager stood beside them trying to coach them but to no avail. Then we made reservations for Sir Winston's. Ahhh, Sir Winston's. The refused to let us sit in the main room b/c I was wearing jeans with a sportcoat and button down shirt. Nice jeans, 7's. so we were forced to sit in the lounge. When we left there were over a dozen people, all older, all wearing jeans, that were allowed to sit in the main room. She ordered the duck, I ordered the steak. Both came out COLD! I mean, prepared days in advance and not even tossed under a heat lamp. AWFUL! AWFUL! AWFUL! The worst experience of my entire life. And incredibly over priced. Bad service. Disgusting food. It was a $130 tab for GARBAGE! I've written letters to the Queen Mary Executive Offices, will never recommend this place, and will publicize the truth about how crappy of an establishment it is! To add insult to injury, the rooms are not well kept, the shower drips out (barely) and the the service staff is non existent. Cons: Service, food, value, experience more

Extremely Romantic! 11/8/2002

Dim lights, soft music, breathtaking views! This restaurant is very romantic! Food is very delicious and the service is the best it can get! Guys wear ties and jacket, woman wear semi formal or formal gowns and it makes for a very memorable evening! Prepare to spend about $100 for a couple...or more if you have alcohol. more

Editorial
  • In Short
Before the City of Long Beach purchased the RMS Queen Mary in 1967, it carried travelers from New York City to London. First-class passengers retreated to the Observation Bar, which overlooks the tip of this giant liner. Now the lounge has opened its doors to the public. The half-circle bar, where drinkers can toast to a view of the harbor and downtown, is dimly lit by antique ceiling and table lamps.
