great work and great staff 12/31/2011

I went to Scarlet Red Salon and had my nose pierced (by Issac), was fast and easy. The work I've seen by them is great, and I'm going back to see what I can do about having my sleeves worked on. The staff there was just awesome; easy to talk to and nice just all around nice people. I would recommend them to anyone who is considering a piercing or tattoo. I can't WAIT to see what my ideas will look like on paper, then in ink!!! more

I don't get where all those negative and ridiculous reviews are coming from, but they must be crazy or something.. The staff and environment in this business are both great! It's clean, and uniquely decorated. It's fun and has a wonderful vibe. They are stand up, awesome people at Scarlet Red! Don't let the incorrect and negative reviews fool you. more

perfict place for tattoos & getting your hair done 12/9/2010

This place is amazing!! you can get your hair done, tattoos, and piercings done there, the women are beautiful funny and amazing at what they do with hair! me and my wife get our hair done there all the time and the kids have fun there. the tattoo artist and body piercer is real good from his work that i seen. i seen him finishing up a portrait tattoo and i must say it came out AMAZING looked just like the picture. check them out. look them up on facebook to see some of there work. search for ""Scarlet Red salon and tattoos"" georgetown for anything you might need. hair, tattoo, and piercings. more

Ok you curly haired people out there, you know what its like. They all say ""yeah I know how to cut curly hair"" and then they wet your hair and cut a straight line as if your hair will stay like that. But now I've found Cirstan and I hope she never ever ever retires ever. If she does, I'm shaving my head.? more

Great service and environment 10/7/2010

Going to Scarlet Red is an inviting place for both men and women. The staff is welcoming, the location is good and always very clean, the service is great. Amber makes sure my hair always looks good and she is pleasant to be around. She's always flexible with her schedule and every appointment is never rushed but still completed in the 30 minute service they offer for men. I have and will continue to recommend Amber at Scarlet Red to others. more

Wonderful, personalized service 8/31/2010

I've been hunting a good stylist for years, and have finally found one in April. I'm not particularly adventurous with my look, and she's great at helping me try new things without taking me too far out of my comfort zone. She works extraordinarily hard to accommodate my requests, and has even come in before her scheduled work hours to squeeze me in for an emergency trim. I've never gotten as many compliments on my hair as I have since April starting cutting it! The rest of the staff is always friendly and inviting, and the salon is clean, well-lit, and welcoming. more

From experience, it's the best salon in the country! 8/25/2009

I was formerly a client of a salon in Round Rock before becoming a client of Cirstan at Scarlet Red. Unfortunately, I moved from Texas to the east coast a little less than 2 years ago and have since had to try many new salons to find anything half as good as Scarlet Red. It is impossible. All the salons in or around Austin just simply do not compare to the style presented by Scarlet Red. No offense to other salons, this is just my opinion. I wish I was there to have Cirstan style my hair for the day, give me a fabulous cut or faux hawk, and some amazing highlights. To say this salon or it's employees are dirty, scary or weird is just completely false. If you calling having TONS of personality and style weird, I say be weird as hell then! This salon rocks, the stylists rock, and I could not recommend a place any more than SCARLET RED! Cirstan, you are awesome and you've done many great things. I hope it only gets better! Pros: Everything, and Cirstan ROCKS! Cons: none at all more

False reviews, this is a great place 5/28/2009

I've been here several times and have gotten a great cut along with highlights/lowlights. It's definately a contemporary salon, if you're looking for a $16 cut with lots of teasing and hairspray, this probably isn't the shop for you. I've never had body work done there but as getting highlights can be a long process, I've been there several times when piercing/tat customers are in the shop. The folks were friendly and spent time with the customer going over the process and what's required while healing. I think if you're going in for piercings and tatoos, you should expect a little ""weird"", but weirdness is definately in the eye of the beholder. As for the competition and their reviews, get over it, get your customers with quality service, not by slamming the other guy. Pros: Terrific cut, neat atmosphere Cons: A little pricy but not Great Clips more

Shocked! 3/28/2009

I made an appointment at another shop to get my tattoo however I wanted it that day and they were already booked for the day so I stopped in at this shop to get a qoute and see if the had any openings, the guy that attempted to help me was no help at all he could not give me a price and would not look at me while talking to me, he seemed very weird! I left there and kept my appointment at the other shop and I am so glad I went with my gut feeling about this place! I have read all the other reviews about this place and I have to say I do believe all the bad reviews about them are more than likely true. Pros: sorry not much good to say! Cons: wierd people more

Never Open 2/7/2009

I have tried to go get a piercing after I get off work which is at 8pm on 3 different occasions, to times they were closed early acording to the hours posted and on the 3rd time the piercer was not in, the guy that was there was rude and could not tell me when the piercer would be back I felt like I was bothering him by being there. more

I have the upmost respect for Scarlet Red!! 12/11/2008

I am going to be moving to Georgetown in about a year with my fiance and was needing to find a new place to get body art and my hair done. Well, for the first time i finally got some true advice! I found this salon/tattoo/piercing place right down the street from my fiance's work. I had time to spare before she got off work, so I stopped by. Carlos told me something that no one else had ever told me! He told me the truth about surface piercings...something very important that no one in Austin has ever told me! Being from Austin I have obviously talked to many a tattoo artist and piercers. Having quite a bit of tattoo work and piercings I really appreciate an honest person in the business who doesn't just care about convincing me to get something I might not really want just to get my money! I also loved the vibe of the salon part...just my style! Coming from Austin I was worried I wouldn't find a place that would be progressive enough for me. I need a place that keeps up with the newest styles and I found it! Thank you again Carlos...you rock! I can't wait for my new piercing!!! See you soon!!! Our apology! 12/3/2008

Scarlet Red Salon feels like we owe an apology to the public for having to read such negative and false reviews that have been posted on line against us. We feel that an explanation is due to our loyal clients & to our future clients. As you read in most postings, Needlewerx is mentioned. Forrest Hyde started his shop inside of Scarlet Red last Nov. but due to unethical business practice & because of a difference in opinion on what quality service is, Scarlet Red felt that it was in the best interest to our business, our clients and the public to have Needlewerx leave our location. *June 14, 08, Needlewerx re-opened in a new location in G-town and the postings against Scarlet Red began. *On Nov. 24, Forrest called Scarlet Red accusing the business of writing a false review about Needlewerx on line. Forrest blatantly admitted to writing past postings against Scarlet Red and admitted that he was going to write more. As you can see ten bad reviews were posted on that day alone and a few more have followed. more

Scarlet Red is a properly licensed business. We are licensed with the City of G-town, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations and with the Texas Department of State and Health Services. Scarlet Red is a clean sanitary business that has been approved to conduct Hair Services, Tattoos and Body Piercing in the same building. Our Tattoo and Body Piercing equipment is sterile and our artists follow all of the laws set forth by the state. We are registered and monthly participants in a biological spore test monitoring program to help ensure the Safety and Health of our customers through proper equipment sterilization. Our salon prices for hair services are equal to and in comparison to some salons in town cheaper. Our stylist strives to meet the needs and quality that our clients are looking for but we know that in every case that need is not always met. We offer our clients the ability to come back to us for corrections if for any reason our service was not to their liking. We have had clients come back to us for corrections because our customer service is our # 1 goal and we would never be so vain to think that we are perfect. In regard to Scarlet Red providing a body piercing on a minor without the proper consent from the parents, we conducted a proper investigation along side the T.D.S.H.S. and found no proof that this took place in our shop. We follow the state laws for tattoos and body piercing and require all legal documentation before any service is provided. The T.D.S.H.S. was very satisfied with the documentation we require from our customers and was pleased to know that we meet and exceed more than what the law requires. more

*All of us at Scarlet Red are disappointed knowing that our only local competitor feels it is necessary to slander our name and our staff. Forrest says that Scarlet Red and it?s staff are a shame to the tattoo industry and that it is unsanitary to have a tattoo shop and a hair salon together. He says that we are dirty, low class, scary, trashy and we are unqualified artist. We feel it is necessary to mention that our shop is where he started his business and the staff he speaks so poorly of in these postings are the employees that he hired when he was here. (One staff member was let go by Needlewerx and re-hired by Scarlet Red.) The staff was qualified to work for him but because they chose to stay at Scarlet Red when Needlewerx was asked to leave, he now says they are un qualified and provide poor service. We have passion for the services we offer the public and welcome everyone to visit Scarlet Red as well as Needlewerx to determent for themselves where they would like to do business. We encourage quality competition because it offers our customers a choice that would otherwise not be available to them. low class salon 11/24/2008

This salon is one of the worst in town! For the price I would have expected higher quality and expeirence! I went againest my best judgement and got my hair done at this salon.I should have know from the guys hanging out by the door smoking and cursing that it was not a professional salon but I was already there and my appointment was already set. I left there very upset with they way my hair looked. The cut was terrible and the highlight were not much better. I went to another salon to see what I could do to fix it and the expierenced hair stylist told me that she butchered my hair. I wish I would have done some research on them before I made a bad decession. Pros: parking Cons: service and ambience very unpleasing more
