Round Rock Hospital

I went in on the 18th of November. I found them to be very aggressive about payment. I mean seriously over the top aggressive. A woman came into my room in the ER and asked for payment before I was even treated. When I told her I was not even treated yet she left. Then the nurse told me that I would receive a bill in the mail and to just pay it then.Okay, sounds normal. I had a 75$ dollar co pay so I left and the next day I get a call from a private name private number. He said he was calling to take payment and if I did not pay they would send it to collections. Since it was a private number I told the man I would pay when I got a bill and I did not feel comfortable giving out my information over the phone to a private name and number. He said if I did not pay he would have to submit the claim to my insurance. I always thought they had to do that anyways? I told him I would happily pay. I called back to make sure it was the hospital that day to the billing department to pay the 1 day old bill and they could not even process the payment because I did not have an account number. THE BILLING DEPARTMENT TOLD ME TO WAIT UNTIL I GOT A BILL! They treated me like I was going to steal from them or something. I have pretty decent insurance too and they still treated me crappy. Usually it is the other way around, not that it should be. more

I had my daughter in this hospital, the women's center is very nice and the staff was awesome. I've visited the ER a few times, each time the wait was average, twice they took me right away, once I waited about 45 minutes to be seen, a longer wait would be expected in any ER. The staff was friendly and helpful, the Dr.'s were wonderful, signing out took too long but again, there is a lot of paper work and i expect this of an ER. They were very thorough with me and my son when I brought him in one night. ER bills are always high, no matter what you are there for, often the doctors are contracted and bill separately from the hospital. Yes the cost is out of control, but you have to know that when you are going to the ER that it is going to cost quite a bit..I would suggest evaluating the situation. Rating the hospital low based on a billing disagreement isn't really fair. more

I want to clarify that my review is only for the medical billing staff, and not the doctors themselves. The doctors were fine, but their medical billing is awful. If you want to be sent bill after bill and have no idea what they are for and have no one explain them to you when you call, and instead treat you like you are a common criminal, then go here. Otherwise, go elsewhere and save yourself the administrative work and stress of having to make sense of their ineffectiveness. Cons: Expensive, incompetent, make you wait forever more

Avoid going here for emergencies... my daughter had a minor cut we had to go there because it was late... so we went to the ER, we knew it was going to be expensive but this is too much... the doctor put glue in the cut and send us home with a $500 hospital bill and $800 doctors bill... Nobody could explain the cost of these bills and we had to pay or they report you to the credit bureau... very disappointed... Cons: Bad service extremely expensive more
