Reid's Cleaners & Laundry

I will start by saying that until very recently we have been incredibly happy with this cleaners. The location is great, they are members of Round Rock’s Chamber of Commerce, Shop the Rock and their owner is a member of City Council. They always take great care with our clothes and have even repaired loose buttons before I’ve even noticed them being loose. This sounds like the perfect business right? I thought so, until I used their sewing services. My husband brought our son’s merit badge sash in to have seven patches sewn. He told them that he wanted them in rows, showing them three patches across. Unfortunately, when we went to pick it up the sash looked terrible. All the patches were crooked, they were not spaced evenly and one was coming off the top of the sash. I complained and said that this was not acceptable. The young man helping me was a little baffled as to what he should do, but then another woman stepped in and starting taking over. She insisted that my husband stapled the patches to the sash, but there is no way he would have done that! He was there with me when we picked it up and told her he did not, but she argued telling him that she remembered him and he did. Uh yeah....did she just call my husband a liar? And to our face no less. Her tone was very argumentative and it was clear she had no interest in redoing the sash. We left and will not be back. They are great with simple cleaning, but I wouldn’t trust them with anything else and the service is so bad I won’t even trust them with my cleaning. more

Reid’s Cleaners was great… but I decided to save some money by going to Rick’s Cleaners – BIG MISTAKE. I wish Reid’s would lower their prices… I might return as a customer. Pros: Good quality work Cons: Prices kept increasing more

I have had such a hard time finding good cleaners in Austin! I tried this place and actually went back several times. I would say I had to leave at least 2 items each time I went to have them redone. Then, they ruined a Chanel blouse and told me it was a manufacturer issue. They refused to contact Chanel and said I had to. I was able to send the shirt back to the store where I got it and they altered it to hide the fraying caused by the dry cleaning process. Honestly, I was shocked at the poor customer service. The girl who checked me out was also going to make me pay for it. She was horrible. I got the cost of the initial cleaning refunded, but that was it. more

Bottom line - This location started out fantastic. I referred business to them and continued to give them business even though there were minor inconsistencies (starch, not performing the items I had requested and they had included in my profile). One time they didn't even wash a shirt before giving it back to me.\r \r I understand when you have employees it can be challenging to get consistent quality from them. However, last week, they destroyed a $60 shirt and then claimed they had nothing to do with it.\r \r When you leave your expensive clothes at a dry cleaner you are trusting that they will perform the duties you ask of them - this location is supremely not trustworthy, as they have allowed their quality issues to go uncorrected.\r \r Also, in the manager's opinion - the customer is always wrong. Use at your own risk. Pros: They started out great... Cons: ...but they refused to own their mistakes and to try to make them right with the customer more
