Our party of six went on a Saturday night during Miami Spice.\r The place was hopping. I will give it that it was a scene.\r Of the six dinners, three were sent back as inedible.\r Three were so-so.\r I had the snapper, it was rubbery, over cooked and cold.\r Could not even cut into it with a fork......snapper!\r I ask for no additional salt, the fish was coated with a salt rub.\r It was replace with salmon, much better, but again, very salty.\r My friends had steak.......aha, a steak house. Again, so tough they\r could not eat it, was returned, and a better piece was given to them, but\r they were not that happy.\r The noise level was high, we could not hear ourselves think.\r And if all that wasn't enough, our waiter had an attitude.\r None of us would ever go back. more

Excellent in almost every way. Service was outstanding, great wine & appetizers led to a wonderful dining experience on the roof of Red's overlooking South Beach. The steaks perfectly prepared and fish moist and delicious. A very nice dining experience. more

To put it quite simply, the food at Red'swas outstanding. Our party enjoyed everything put before us. The salads were my personal favorites but the fish, chicken and especially the steak were excellent. We also had Mac 'n Cheese, mushrooms, and cheeses all of which were terrific. We'll be back to Red's when we return to South Beach. more

This was our last night in South Beach and we wanted a nice restaurant to go to. Our other choices were The Capital Grill and Prime 112. We read some of the reviews and we thought that it would be the place for us. The waiter was nice. We ordered our meal. My husband ordered the ribeye steak medium and I ordered Lobster. To make a long story short, the ribeye had so much fat on it, that after cutting it off, there wasn't much meat left. The lobster was half raw. After complaining to the manager, (which was useless), he gave us one piece of cheesecake and greasy donuts for dessert. The next time we are in South Beach, I will definitely stick to restaurants that I know are good. And this certainly isn't a good one. more

My family and I dined at RED last night in celebration of my husband's birthday. We decided to give it a try based on a raving recommendation from my son who had recently been there. I think we found our new favorite steakhouse.\r \r To say that the evening went perfectly would be an understatement. It seemed as if the entire staff was there solely to take care of us. The service was better than what I've ever experienced at any restaurant, anywhere. They really went above and beyond.\r \r Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about RED's very unique cuts of meat and they were as delicious as they were unique. Everything we ordered was excellent and cooked exactly to our liking. The lobster mac n' cheese as a side dish was out of this world. The calamari appetizer was exceptional.\r \r To sum it all up: \r \r Impeccable service. Outstanding food. Beautiful atmosphere. Can't wait to go back. more

The first time I went we loved red steak house, so we brought friends and had to return the drinks and the mussels. We tried it again for my 26 year old daughters birthday. We got there early and had a drink at the bar. I ordered my usual a gin martini with olives. I was horrified how the bartender made it. Olives were in a separate glass and she gave me a skewer to put the olives in. we ordered Miami spice and the steak maybe was 4oz. the pasta dishes tasted similar to chef boyardee with chewy tasteless clams. We ordered the peach desert which tasted like delmonte baked peaches. more

We visited the RED STeakhouse On August 5th, 2011. We were interested in going because of the Miami Spice Menu. We were a party of 4 we started at the bar a total of 6 Whiskeys and 1 wine, your looking at $ 95.00, Then we got seated and had probably the worst Waitress of All ERIN, We were really rushed and her Hospitality skills were not there at all. The Miami Spice menu consists of three items for $35.00 per person but small print is if you want an upgrade you need to add the extra $15-20.00 . We added the Lobster Truffle Macaroni & Cheese which is served family style this is a side order well guess what its $ 54.00 . We visited it and the food was not bad and also the least expensive bottle of wine was $ 44.00 . So get ready to spend alot , Its atrendy upscale place but Honestly RUTH CHRIS STEAKHOUSE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BETTER CHOICE EVEN IF IT A LA CARTE. more

The steaks are very good. The ribeye was great and also tried a very good piece of the fillet offered on Miami Spice menu; however, the staff was not really friendly or welcoming as they should be for a $$$$ restaurant. Most of our group ordered off the Miami Spice menu but the staff made us feel like we were the Beverly Hillbillies taking Pa' out for his Bday. This also goes for the sommelier, who could only recommend the most expensive of bottles. Overall the sides were good and desserts were well received but beware if you go with a large party - they do not do seperate bills. Nothing to really seperate them from other good steakhouses. more

A true dining experience on the beach 4/30/2010

Having moved to Miami Beach from NYC, the best way to describe RED is a little taste of New York on the Beach. This is an excellent upscale steakhouse, with a real city vibe. The place was packed, food was delicious, wine list offered a good selection, service was very good for the most part, with the exception of having to ask for water twice. Overall very good. Pricey, and not casual, so dress accordingly Pros: Excellent food and wine list Cons: none really more

I rate this restaurant very good. The bone-in filet was melt in your mouth good and prepared just as requested. The sweet potato souffle was awesome. The caesar salad was the best I have had todate. My hubby was not as thrilled as I was. His chicken was just okay, nothing out of the ordinary. \r I would definately dine here again. Meal for two, no wine, one side, one dessert was $134. We wanted to enjoy some fine dining without breaking the bank. more

I have eaten at some of the finest restaraunts in the world, and this in NOT one of them. After texting verification of our reservation, the staff promptly lost any record of it when we arrived. First strike. The waiters are, I assume, told to describe every ingrediant in every dish. When our waiter started to tell us what extra virgin olive oil was, I found it almost insulting. The wine by the glass that one of my party ordered was corked. It tasted of mildew. The food arrived in a timely fashion, although a bit rushed. The filet was tastey, but came alone on a bare plate. For $49.00 there should have at least been a garnish. I had the fish and it was also quite good. In addition we ordered a side of sweet potatoes which came in a large turrine and was more than enough for two. All in all, though what we ordered was well prepared and very good, dinner for two with two glasses of wine, two hors d'oeuvres and two main dishes - no coffee or dessert - was $220.00. Way too expensive and way too much attitude for what it was - good but certainly not great. more

I have been dining here sporadically since they opened at the beginning of 2009. Let's just say that it is getting much busier and more people are hearing about this excellent steakhouse. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by my favorite bartender, Murisa. She was very attentive as always and very helpful. I like to try different menu items as well as different wine and I am never disappointed at RED. MUST TRY! more

I have been to alot of steakhouses . . . This one is the best. Not only was it the best steak ever - but the side dishes were superb. Not your average side dishes - they were different and large portions.\r \r Highly recommend more
