Editorial review from Citysearch 3/31/2014

I could not agree more with the issues about how customers are treated. I was told about this place and was excited about finding it - until I encountered the woman that has been mentioned in previous posts. \r \r As a previous owner of a consignment shop, I understand that you can't expect for them to take everything that people bring in, but there is no excuse for the ATTITUDE. \r \r Her poor treatment of not only me, but to my grown daughter has made me boycott the place. \r \r Although it is very far to go, I now take all of our merchandise to Finders Keepers in Decatur. Their customer service is worth the drive. \r \r Because I am in the real estate rental business, I typically have 3-4 rooms of furniture to consign a few times a year. I have never tried to consign junk - and Finders Keepers has always taken and turned everything quickly. \r \r more

Editorial review from Citysearch 3/29/2014

I am so glad I found this page because I thought it was the only one !! I, too, love the merchandise at this shop, but the red-headed girl with the long hair is sooo unfriendly. The other ladies in there are very friendly with me except for her. And it because of their kindness that I would overlook her and keep going back. However, enough is enough. Because of that heavy set girl with the long red hair, my days of shopping at the Red Door are over ! First of all, she never greets me. It's like I'm not even there. Let me first say that I am African-American, and I am not one to label people prejudiced over one isolated incident. I allow people to have an off moment or bad day as we all do. But, I cannot tell you how many times I have walked past this girl and she doesn't even acknowledge me, but let a non-black person walk by right behind me & see wont she speak to them !! It's so obvious. At first I was like, ""Wow"". Then, I just kept about my business since some things aren't worth the energy. \r \r Then, one time I went there & saw this beautiful leopard print ottoman. I was touching it and she looked at me and said, ""Excuse me, that's not for sale. One of our employees is about to buy that."" I said okay, then politely backed off and walked away. It's like she was annoyed that I was even looking at it. Logically speaking, why in the heck is it on the floor if it's not for sale ?? Just put it in the back room. Then, there was another incident when I asked a young man there what color tickets were 50% off that week. He didn't know the answer, so he walked over to ask this same girl with the long red hair. She told him the answer, but also threw in there that I should have gone on Facebook to find that information out. Really lady ?? I didn't respond to her since she wasn't talking TO me. After dealing with this girl's stank attitude numerous times, I didn't go in there for several months. \r \r When I did finally go back, I found this gorgeous vase with floral stems inside for only $10. Even though I hated to, I asked her if the stems were a separate price. She looked at it and said that the vase shouldn't even be priced that low, then she took it to some guy to ask him if it was even priced right. Now, mind you I didn't ask about the vase. That was going to be $10 regardless since that's what it was advertised as. I only asked if the stems came with it. She could see what a good deal it was & didn't want me to have it at that price. Anyhow, she came back and said it was fine. I took the vase and walked off. I'm pretty good at overlooking ignorance especially since the other ladies in there are so nice to me. But, I just can't anymore with her. My last straw was this week. I went in there and asked her how their consignment worked. She seemed so annoyed that I was even inquiring. The entire time she talked to me, she was looking down or away. All I saw was the color of her eye shadow because she wouldn't even make eye contact with me. It was so apparent she didn't want my stuff or my business. So guess what, Red Door ? You got it ! When I walk in there and see this girl, my whole mood flattens. So, I've decided to spend my hard-earned dollars elsewhere. It's yard sale & estate sale season, so who needs that ? \r \r Oh, and by the way there is another consignment shop down the street from them called The Real Life Store. It is a Christian establishment, and I love going there. I will admit their stuff isn't quite as good as the Red Door (YET) because they are still new in town. But honey, those people have excellent customer service !! They are so friendly & approachable. One day I was in there and really didn't see anything that caught me eye, but because of their great customer service, I went and FOUND some items to purchase just so I could support them. That red head from the Red Door Consignment shop needs to pay them a visit and take serious notes !! more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS!!!! 2/6/2012

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE TREATMENT OF CUSTOMERS!!!! Manager does not listen is arrogant & made it clear that customers are not what is important, $ is. I had a legitimate concern they did help with at all because they did not want to admit fault. HORRIBLE BUSINESS! Seems I am not the only one with this complaint... so read the review TAKE WARNING and do NOT give them your business!!!! There are other places that value customers and know that in this economy especially... customers are the most vital part of your business! Instead of listening... the manager talked over me. Instead of addressing my complaint... the manager told me what their ""policy"" is. Instead of finding a solution... the manager argued and talked back to me, making the situation heated instead of calm. Instead of making me feel valued as a customer... the manger flat out insulted me.. more than once. I will be filing a complaint with the following: Better Business Bureau - https://www.bbb(dot org)/consumer-complaints/file-a-complaint/get-started FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection - 877-382-4357 or FTC.gov and The Governors Office of Consumer Affairs - 404-651-8600 more

Customer service? Not so much. 10/19/2011

I love the selection and prices at Red Door and I've had a great experience consigning my items. I've never had any issues with items not being accepted. However, the female at the consignment desk with long brown hair has absolutely no interpersonal skills and has an arrogance about her. In fact, I've contemplated returning to my favorite Newnan consignment store just so that sourpuss doesn't ruin my mood. Would have been a 5 star review but I've had so many encounters with this girl and have never once witnessed her smiling or being friendly. Customer service trumps everything else. It's not a department to be lacking in. more

Good Product Reputation/Customer Svc. Needs Work 3/8/2011

I agree that they aren't ALL the friendliest bunch on the planet. I had the same experience with a ""higher end"" consignment shop in Houston. Maybe when you're snooty you can charge a bit more! That being said, I consigned with them for the first time this winter and did well. They were upfront about the brands they wouldn't accept. That was fine as I had Justice, Limited Too, American Eagle, etc. Quite a few items still had tags. As for the other things they wouldn't take, I just accept it. It's THEIR store and they know what sells. I had tried selling the more expensive items at a kids consignment we had at my daughter's school and most people there weren't willing to pay a little more for better brands. The people who shop at Red Door EXPECT a better quality product. So, I use more than one store to consign clothes. BTW, they do have great end of season sales and Dollar Days. I find them to be quite creative. If you want cheap, go to a garage sale. more

consign at you own risk 1/15/2009

The customer service for consignor's is beyond bad. This place is SUPER picky. They don't accept clothes in bags or boxes and I have seen them automatically turn someone away without even looking at what they brought in. Pros: find things i like Cons: they make consigning with them very difficult more
