We went to this restaurant on our way to Lexington, VA last weekend. We were very impressed when we walked in and saw the nice Victorian Ice Cream Parlor that was being used as a bar. The dining area was also very interesting and you felt like you were sitting in a old train depot from the early 1900s.
The menu was a little pricey for what we were looking for. It was typical bar food like steaks and chicken sandwiches with catchy names based on train words like whistle and stagecoach. Gross french fries. Bad dessert selection.
Our waitress Tammie was EXCEPTIONALLY nice and very helpful with our two children. She continually checked on us and we gave her a nice tip for it. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Friday night. Let the kids play on the trains out front in the cobblestone lot.
