We recently went here to purchase my son hermit crabs for Christmas. The employees here are very helpful, great selection of animals from ferrets to fish. They have every supply you could ask for! Reasonably priced and locally owned. Go here before you regret you didn't! more

The staff at Pruess KNOWs their stuff !!! Go in with Qs about pets and pet care and someone there can answer them! Pruess is a large pet store with lots of different pets and all the things you need to go with them. The only reason I did not give them five stars is that the store could be a little more clean...BUT I can overlook that when I can talk to knowledgeable, caring people! more

Preuss Animal House is one of those businesses that has been around for a very long time. They have cornered the market in the area for tropical and freshwater fish, as well as for all varieties for reptile. Preuss Animal House is a very big store. They have a large area dedicated only to fish, with every size of aquarium (both new and used...used = good deal), tank decor, fish food, and live coral, not to mention innumberable varieties of fish available for purchase. They usually have several kittens available as well. The kittens always look playful and healthy, and are a popular attraction because they are so cute and fuzzy. They hand-raise several types of exotic birds, and have baby and adult parrots, cockatoos, macaws who are always willing to have a chat. My favorite area of the store, however, is the impressive reptile room. The reptile staff is well-trained and can answer any question you have about purchasing or caring for a reptile. In fact, I bought my cornsnake, Jasper, from Preuss when he was a hatchling and could not have been more pleased with the service I recieved with picking him out and taking him home. In the reptile room they have turtles, snakes of all sizes, and many varieties of lizards, spiders, scorpions and frogs. If you are not so brave, you can even find an ant farm in there. more
