Over-priced Valentine's Day Scam 2/24/2009

just wanted to take a moment to express my disappointment with the accommodations we were provided with on Valentine's night. The Pond House decided to open up the banquet hall to accomodate more reservations. I realize that by opening up the banquet hall for more reservations you were able to increase your head count, however, the atmosphere was awkward at best, our table/chairs were glorified uncomfortable patio furniture, and I walked away from the experience feeling like I was the victim of a scam. I must say that the food was good, however, this did not make up for the lack of comfort, given the cost of the meal. I regret my decision to dine at the Pond House. While theymay have increased the customer count for one night, they definitely lost my repeat business. more

Mediocre brunch 4/15/2008

06/10 Belatedly adding this review: We went for the Sunday brunch on Father's Day/Rose Garden Weekend and though we had requested an outside table when making our Open Table reservation, non were available. The hostess could not tell us how long the wait would be so we accepted an inside table. A large group was celebrating so the noise level due to intermittent screams from a pair of children was very high. My wife ordered the strawberry/rhubarb French toast which was 2 slices of relatively thin bread and a smear of spread. My Pond House Benedict was prepared with a base of dense corn bread, topped by a very thin crab cake, egg and finally Hollandaise sauce. The corn bread was too thick vis a vis the crab cake and the potatoes were served at room temperature. Overall, given the price points, our dining experience was mediocre. 04/08 We just returned from dining at Pond House and thoroughly enjoyed this week's Tasty Tuesday dinner. Each month on Tuesdays a 3-course meal is offered for only $15.55. Our meal started off with a delicious portabella mushroom and goat cheese timbale salad which was followed by egg battered monkfish sauteed in olive oil and white wine, served with garlicky spinach and pureed potatoes. Dessert was a lemon poppy seed cake with lemon curd and almond whipped cream. Everything was fantastic and bargained priced. Service was attentive and friendly. I suggest making advance reservations and bringing a bottle of wine, the corkage fee at $5 is a bargain. Pros: Price, view and food more
