Peridot Nail Salon

Highly disappointed by this salon. The first time I went was for my first pedi. I wasn't sure what was going on, but the lady helping me didn't speak enough English to understand why I was hesitating with each step. She was huffy and impatient with me. My toes hurt for almost a week afterward, which I asusmed was 'normal' until I saw some very discolored areas under my nails where she had been rather rough with the tools. This lasted for almost 2 weeks. The second time a different staff member was giving me a manicure. They ignored the fact that I was the first guest through the door of the salon that morning and made me wait while 2 others had their nails done who hadn't had pre-scheduled appointments. Then when a third employee got to work on my hands he not only ridiculed me on my color choice and skin quality, he called the attention of a manicurist and guest next to him as well as the pedicurist. Nothing is worse than having a whole spa worth of people laughing at your skin. I go to a spa to fix these things, not highlight my faults. So with their combination poor customer service, painful pedicures and pure embarrassment, I will not return. more

My young adult daughter and I went here for a manicure and pedicure as we couldn't get in at our regular salon ""Oasis"" in Renton. I had read several good reviews and thought that we would give it a try as we like visiting Kent Station. The salon itself was fairly new, had sufficient pedicure/manicure stations and appeared to be clean. The two women who did our manicures and pedicures were difficult to understand, but were very nice and did a great job. My complaint is that the man who owns the salon was on his computer at the front counter as we were having our pedicures. There is no back side to the counter and the computer screen is in full view to all the pedicure cutomers. The man was searching inapproriate pictures of women dressed in slinkly undies and some completly naked. He must have clicked on a video and the salon's sound system was wired to the computer. The overhead music turned off and the sound from this porno video broadcast over the salon speakers. He hurried and turned it off. The women that were doing our pedicures giggled and seemed embarassed. I was appalled that this man can run a business with such inappropriate behavior. I will never be visting this salon ever again. I've been going to Peridot for almost two years, and I enjoy my regular visits. For the last few months, I've been getting acrylic nails done and they do a beautiful job. In fact, I have had a number of people stop me to ask me where I get my nails done. If that wasn't enough to keep me coming back, Tweety - the owner - got my teenage daughter away from black nail polish...finally! She goes with me every two weeks now to get a fun new color. I've been going to Peridot for about six month and I go at least once a month to get a pedicure. At first, I liked how clean they were and the convenience, the place being at Kent Station. About couple months ago, i started to notice the unsanitary and rushing of customers. Yesterday, I went to get a pedicure and I was turned off by happened and will not go back again! At first, the lady that was doing my pedicure put on gloves that have been used which was pretty gross...such a high risk for foot infection. Secondly, the lady was very unfriendly and was very rushed to get to the next customer. The price for pedicure is very reasonable, but it would also be nice to have the service which you pay for. When I told the lady that was doing my Pedicure to fix parts which she messed up on, she turned to the person that works there and started to speak in her language and laughing. I was very very disappointed with the whole service and the customer treatment. I will never go back again and will not recommend that anyone do so...unless you would like to get infections such as MRSA, athlete's foot, fungus or other infections. I read the reviews on this place before I made the appt. for my 5yr old and I to go in for nail polishing and a pedicure. I felt as if we were a number....a head count! I felt no customer service at all! I wanted to have a mommy daughter day and I felt like we were rushed in and out! As far as the pedicure.....well I could have done it myself at home. It took all of 15 minutes....I really enjoy a good pedicure, and this was not one. The place seemed like a joke...it seemed as if it should have been ran in someones house. I bought my girlfriend a gift card to Kent Station for her birthday. And she dragged me to Peridot Salon for a pedicure. My first thought was it was a clean place, what I didn't know was that I was gonna get a pedicure as well as my girlfriend. At first I was skeptical about a guy getting a pedicure, but the owner, Tweedy,assured me that lots of guys get manicures and pedicures. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time as we sat back in those massaging chairs and got our pedicures. Peridot is now a ""must stop"" for us when we visit Kent Station. I love this place! Awesome environment! I booked a martini party for my birthday ,and had a blast! The staff is very friendly and super nice. They did an awesome job on my toes. Technician Hanna's nail art designs are amazing and an original! I've found my favorite pedi place. BTW....their martinis are out of this world! There owner is super nice! Pros: clean! Friendly! I have been going to Peridot every since I found the salon while serving on Jury Duty in Kent in March 2008. The location at Kent Station is terrific, making for a great day of getting nails done, lunch and a movie with the girlfriends. There is lots of parking and it's easy to get to from 167 or surface streets. All of the staff and most especially the owner, Tweety, are so nice. The salon is neat, clean and nicely decorated. I have never had a problem with my acrylics or pedicures and I am really hard on my nails. I highly recommend this salon and in fact, I drive from Auburn just because I am so pleased with the outstanding service and friendly staff. I always make an appointment (just the way I do things) which can even be done via email! But I also know walk-ins are graciously fitted in to the busy schedule. Prices are below what I used to pay for fills six years ago, the last time I wore acrylics. I will not even attempt to find another salon as long as I live in this area! I read the review about the ""fishies"" - so I checked it out. Yuck! It was the worst experience and horribly unsanitary. I went on line and searched this service. It's apparently not recommended because of the filth factor. So I reported them to the state and got an email back saying that this kind of pedicure isn't even legal in this state. Just the yuck factor alone turned me off. more

I read the earlier reviews about the salon not being clean; I go in with my best friend who is a ""clean freak"", and we keep going back. The staff is wonderfully friendly and skilled, and the owner is always on hand to make sure that the customers are satisfied. On the cutting edge, they just imported several hundred fish who will now nibble all the dead skin off your feet. more

The owner makes sure you have a positive experience, the pedicures are a great value, and they are always cheerful and kind. They have many options from nail art to exfoliation by fish! A relaxing environment where you can calmly unwind or go with a girlfriend and enjoy each other's company. This is my favorite nail salon by far! The owner is very friendly and everything is sanitary. I love getting designs on my nails, and if you want a design, ask for Tammy, she is very creative and puts in a lot of detail. They give you your own tools and a box for them to take home and bring back next time, which is very reassuring that you won't get anyone else's germs. I highly recommend this salon for a long lasting, satisfying mani or pedi. Pros: Very sanitary, good overall experience. Cons: Some of the staff not very talkative. more

I went in because of their advertising, and was not happy. They had me wait longer than the five minutes promised. I would have been okay with waiting longer, but they should have told me 20 minutes rather than five. The lady rushed me through the service. Polish chipped within a few hours and looked terrible after just a day. I wouldn't advise anyone to go here... besides, it wasn't terribly clean either. Pros: None. Cons: Many. more

I only went here because a few other salons I called were booked up... now I know why they were open. It wasn't clean and the pedicure chair was visibly dirty. I wasn't sure how to handle it, so I stayed and sure wish I had just left. more

I absolutely love this salon! The staff and owner are super friendly. I smudged my newly designed toe and they re-did it no questions asked. The owner is always on hand to answer any questions. She is extremely creative and very open and honest about services. The salon gives you your own set of equipment. They label a box with your name and customer number. When you return they look you up and get your own equipment out. I love this place. I have found my nail salon for life. Pros: light easy going environment Cons: very few workers speak english clearly more
