NOT JUST MOUNTIAN BIKE STUFF
Full service bike shop - road, hybrid, and mountain bikes, kids bikes, trailers even unicycles
Gary runs this little shop just south of downtown Kent. Prices are fair but service is out of this world. Free tune-ups if you buy the bike from them. Gary is happy to explain (several times if necessary) the pros and cons of any purchase and let the buyer decide (no confuse you with the details and upsell at this joint). There is a group that rides 2-3 times a week from this shop and is happy to welcome new comers. I went from yes-I-can-ride-a-bike to completing the STP in less than a year with the help of these folks. Best shop in hte area.
PROS: lower presure VERY informative staff
CONS: still looking

I am shocked and stunned at the ridiculous allegations being made against Puget Sound Boot Camp and it's owners Alfred and Clemence. I have been working out for years, worked with different personal trainers and tried many different programs, all of which had some merit, however, not until I joined Puget Sound Boot Camp and began working with Clemence did I see the positive results I could only dream about prior. She is extremely motivational and encouraging, truly interested in each and every person there and very postive. I attended the camp for 9 months and lost weight that I had been trying to lose for years with no success. I passionately recommend Alfred and Clem and their program. Just give it 4 weeks initially, if you don't like it then don't re-up, there's no long term commitment, no year long contract. I think you'll find that they are amazing, caring people who are only interested in helping you accomplish the personal fitness goals that you set for yourself. They believe in you and, through encouragement and nurturing, help you to accomplish goals for yourself that you never even imagined were possible.

If you have 5.5 hours to play 18 holes, this is the course for you! Busy does not always mean good; the slow play ruins one's pace and rhythm. Get a very early tee time, or be prepared to stand around and wait. They need a marshall out there too to move people along or don't book so many tee times so close together.
Pros: Beautiful course, well maintained
Cons: Slow play, no marshall

The Covington Aquatic Center is conveniently located next to Tahoma High School. The pool is a bit on the older side, but is well maintained with a friendly staff. The lessons at Covington Aquatic center have a low student to teacher ratio and well trained staff.
Lap passes and swimming lessons cost much less than at other pools in the area. (Such as Kinderswimmer or Olsen Mansion)

This facility is fairly new having only been built a few years ago. The rink is in great shape and a good place to play some hockey. Plus, plenty of stands and seating for any fans that may show up. The locker rooms are a bit of a dump, but they serve their purpose.
Despite being a fairly new building, for some reason the architects couldn't seem to come up with plans for a few water fountains in the place. (If there are some they're well hidden.) Nowhere to grab a drink for either spectators or players. This may have been intended to try to entice people into the small bar located in the building. Although, I don't usually look for a macro brew to fill up my water bottle before a game. If you're going to a game at Kent Ice Centre be sure you bring some full water bottles.

When I was a newbie at paintballing this was the first store I went to. They overcharge for paintballs and they don't carry much brands. They have mediocre brands that will only fit certain barrel sizes. They carry a decent line of high end markers, other than that, they have the cheap stuff that will jam on you when you play. They buy and sell. They over price their markers a lot. And they low ball you when you want to sell it to them. Their crew isn't great because they will shoot paintballs in the back while you try and figure out what to buy. The little acessories they charge the most. O-rings will be $5 dollars but you can get them else where like Lowes for like .30 cents. The staff isn't really familiar with paintballing equipment much, they just want you to buy the most expensive gun and gear. There location is horrible and is very far away from their actual playing field. I wouldn't wastemy time here when there are other places to get gear for cheap and closer.

I am a former camper when there was this great female trainer in Kent, she quit in April 2008 Now I am a current campers with the co-owner Alfred as the Trainer and it is horrible. It is not that Alfred is a horrible trainer, he is just no where near the caliber that the ex trainer was. The worst part is that the trainer that just quit was the only one in the company that truly cared about us and was not fake and foney like the owners are, Clemence and Alfred. We were always being pressured by the owners to by multilevel marketing products and told we would be unsuccessful if we did not buy their $100-600 products. I know for fact that she has lied to many campers and they now even has trainers that are not certified or experienced in group or personal training working in their boot camps. One is just a PE teacher. We were lied too and manipulated with fake appearances and looking back I should have left a long time ago, at least when everyone else did. I will not be returning to this boot camp, just like the over 40 others I know did not and will not be coming back. I was never going to write something like this, but was recently motivated by a new sign from Puget Sound Boot Camp posted in Kent. They state they are Kent’s #1 Boot Camp, which is ridiculous. This pushed me over the edge. They are one of two “boot camps” in Kent, the other being Triplethreatbootcamp.com. I will be there next camp.

This company is not a positive place to get healthy and fit.
They will lie to you, nickel and dime on programs and products that they sell in their multi-level marketing program. And if you do not buy them, they will tell try to convince you that you will be unsuccessful.
I have tried many programs and this one is not a good one. There was a great trainer in Kent that worked for them, but she too has gotten out. Now they are using former clients and inexperienced people to be trainers for the program.
If you are looking to get fit, healthy, be happy, have fun and build your self esteem, do not choose this program. Kent offers many programs to choose from through the community center and even a new company called Triple Threat. I have seen banners all over.
