Ripoff scam 3/17/2012

Just had care inspected and serviced by Firestone dealer. Got a recall notice, and took car to Pearson's for recall repair. They did a 'free 27 point inspection ' without asking and quoted me 1300 in 'badly needed' repairs and service. I spoke with the guy at Firestone about the claims and he stated that they were 'completely bogus'. Furthermore, he stated that if the seals were suddenly leaking, it had happened since my car was serviced and that the Pearson service must have made them leak. This is total crap. more

Horrible service, worse customer service! 7/7/2011

Pearson Toyota not only doesnt care about your vehicle, they dont care about their customers either! The service advisor did not care that it took multiple attempts to fix my vehicle, he was more worried about joking around with other staff members and ignoring me! The service manager provided no explantion for my repeated bad service so needless to say this dealership is a joke! more

Good experience 7/27/2010

Great place to get a car. Bought a new Camry the salesman was great and we have had great service for the recall and our scheduled maintenence. We had to go out of town suddenly for a death in the family and the service department got us in and out for oil change and tires rotated so we could get on the road. We definetly would buy again. more

Stay away 6/9/2010

I have had two horrible experiences with Pearson (previously Denbiegh) Toyota. First I purchased a used car from them. I immediately started having misc. problems with this vehicle. It was like pulling teeth to get them to stand by their product and warranty and fix it right (repeatedly). As soon as the warranty expired they refused to deal with me, even thoe their mistakes lead to a major safety incident with my vehicle. \r Second experiance, I took my newly purchased Toyota product (purchased else where) in to get warranty work done. They initially agreed to perform this maintenance on my vehicle, with the understanding I was on a tight time schedule. Come the day of my appointment I called the service dept. to verify the parts had come in, and was notified that the service manager had refused to perform this warranty work on my vehiclefor some reason and wanted to re-evaluate it. At that point I no longer had the time to haggle with them and needed to head out of town for an extend more

10 Tacoma *ERNIE HENSEL*A+++ 4/12/2010

I bought a 2010 Tacoma 4x4 Double Cab From Pearson Toyota in late November 09. My sales person Was Ernie Hensel. Ernie was a A+ guy. I told him what it would take to sell me the truck and he made it happen. If any one is wanting to buy a car or truck Ernie is Def. your guy. Hope this will help you with your car buying experience. more

NAVY Buyer's Beware 12/24/2009

Went to buy an SUV...signed a contract secured with money that was taken out of my bank and then one day after was told that the SUV was sold. After we were suppose to get this one...why else would we have the VIN info to take to the bank etc..Then was told that they no longer have any 2010 that we were to buy, that we needed to look at a more expensive SUV.. we have the paper work with the amounts of the SUV,even the salemans name and commissions they were to get. We were able to get the Loan, but why would we want to buy a more expensive SUV? This is the second time with a Toyota Dealership in a Military town(first was in J-ville NC) that we were taken. The first time we were taken with a high interest rate. This time, told after we signed the paper...Oh, you need to buy a more expensive one! Husband in in the NAVY and we are young ...so ...beware.. more

Denbeigh Toyota is now Pearson Toyota - Service Warranty Scam and Fraud 4/3/2009

I used to go to Denbeigh Toyota's service dept. to have my new Camry XLE serviced. I thought everyone there was great. The only issue was, when my car was under warranty, they could never find out what was causing the loud clacking noise in my engine. It is semi-loud when the car is idling and very loud when driving. I complained about issue every time I brought my car in for service. \r \r Denbeigh Toyota moved to a new, Newport News location & have renamed themselves Pearson's Toyota. \r \r My car is no longer under warranty & I took it to Pearson's for a scheduled oil change. Again, I made the complaint about the loud engine noise. Quickly, the service guys were able to identify the problem & quoted me over $700 to have it fixed. I have called & left messages inquiring if this pre-existing problem could be covered as a warranty issue. It's been month & I have rec'd no response.\r \r My friend's co-worker discussed the exact same problem he had w/ Denbeigh/Pearson Toyota. The more

Not happy with the salesman's attitude at all. 1/7/2009

Went there looking to trade my mustang in when gas prices were out of control, told him my situation and he wouldn't even sit down and hammer anything out with me. Drove to hpt and ended up working out a deal at the Pomoco Nissan for a car priced the same as the toyota I wanted. Very disappointed in Denbigh Toyota now Pearson's toyota on jefferson. more

Bait and switch 5/19/2008

We test drove both the Prius and the Civic and decided on the Prius. The sales people could not have been more different. Honda dealer was courteous but laid back. The Denbigh Toyota salesman was kind when we test drove the car but pushy once we left. Three phone calls to our home within 24 hours. Three more in one week. Two post cards to remind us he sells cars. \r Despite this, we returned to Denbigh Toyota to purchase our Prius. We placed our "order" for the car which took over an hour. We were told the price, signed the paperwork with our nonrefundable $500 deposit and were told we'd hear from them when the vehicle comes in (estimated at 4 to 6 weeks). When we got home, we had two messages from the salesperson "desperate" to hear from us. When we returned the call, we were told the price was actually $400 more than the paperwork we signed! These seems very bait and switch to us and now we aren't keen on dealing with Denbigh Toyota to complete our transaction. What recour more

The best 4/29/2008

I had the best car buying experience when I bought my car from them 2 years ago. The sales people were very helpful. The did not try to push other vehicles on me. I knew what I wanted before I got there. They took me right to what I wanted, took me for a test drive and had me out the door with my new car in about an hour. more

Toyotas! 2/21/2008

This is the only Toyota dealership in uptown Newport News, and if there was another, there would be no competition. The service is great and they have a great selection of cars. My parents got their last car from here, and we were all impressed by their high spirits more

Car Dealers 4/12/2007

Denbigh Toyota is located in Newport News, VA. They are reportedly the best new car dealer in the area, considering the large amount of dealers in the area. The best part of this dealership is the service department - personnel are courteous, helpful, and dedicated. more
