Just took my family to bowl there for the first time and it was a terrible experience! The old man with glasses and mustache has the personality of a stick. He didn't say a word when we walked up. Only gave one ball for my son and daughter to share. Kids ball kept getting stuck and would not send the ball back, had to ask 5 times for service and had to wait every time for 3-5 minutes , and when I asked for another kids ball we were told no because he had parties coming in. We were there at 1130 on Saturday and only 3 lanes were bowling, including us.. When I asked for more time I was told I gave you 10 minutes. Needless to say we didn't get to finish our game and it cut out in the 6th frame. The old man couldn't even let my family finish our game! We had paid for the hour and because we had to wait for them to fix the ball retrieve , switch lanes, and share a ball we didn't get to finish. This place has no idea of what service and business is about! Went there to have a good time, left there feeling really upset! Stay away from this place. I wouldn't go back if the bowling was free! The folks that run Pearland Bowling are the worst as far as customer service. All of the people who work at the front are rude, especially the woman at the desk who is on a power trip. Pearland definitely needs another bowling center, this one needs to be shut down. Old and dirty. more

My husband and I have been taking our kids here since before they could lift a ball. Well my second still cannot. Surprisingly, my kids and husband still prefer to come here for their birthday and summer evening bowling over the big kids pizza+fun mouse chain or movies or water parks. My kids and husband are really quite fond of the Mutt & Jeff league where the young players can team up with more mature players. We have met some fantastic people from Pearland and neighboring towns at the Mutt & Jeff league. I wish it were a tad bigger as they are super booked for birthdays and many leagues quite often! However, if they got any bigger the ""family feel"" could likely disappear... I dunno. The place is run by a family that has lived and worked in Pearland for many generations. I really cannot imagine why some of the comments have had such a negative experience, I guess a bad experience can happen just about anywhere at any time. The Pearland Bowl have been nothing short of accommodating every time we have visited. If you are looking for the Stepford wives convention or a tea party don't bother to come... however, if you want to go relax or ""chill"", play some bowling, have a great variety of snacks and beverages Pearland Bowling Center is right up your alley, lol. I would not recommend that you go to this bowling alley unless you want to be treated like you're a criminal. I am 26 years old, I use words like ""crud,"" ""shoot,"" or ""doggonit"" and somehow, through no fault of my own or anyone with me got kicked out for breaking ""Rule 11 - no foul language."" Not to mention, we also supposedly had 2, 8 lb. bowling-balls in our lane which is also apparently breaking a rule. After explaining that we only had one light bowling-ball that the little boy in the next lane was using, our group was accused of stealing personal bowling-balls from other lanes - a ridiculous accusation that has no merit whatsoever. I give this place a poor, one-star rating, when in fact I shouldn't give them any stars at all - they should be shut down. Pros: no pros AT ALL!!! Cons: extremely rude staff, dirty atmosphere more

Me and 5 of my friends went here tonight. First off it was league night so we had to wait for them to be done before we could bowl. League was done at 10 and they close at 11 so we had to hurry, no big deal. We go to the snack bar to get some beer and the lady at the front desk gave us a really hard time about our ID's. Saying the girls ID's didn't match their faces. WE ARE ALMOST 30! It was ridiculous! So we start bowling and some of the girls want a lighter ball so we try to find one. They are all behind the front desk and the desk lady really did not want us to have one. She gave us one after much hesitation and a little while into bowling the little boy in the lane next to us took it. No big deal, I go to the desk to get another and the lady DID NOT want me to have it. Only one light ball per lane she says. No big deal I say, the boy took ours, I point to him using our ball and she reluctantly hands me another. Minutes later she closes our lane. She says we are taking b alls from other lanes(not true) says we are using fowl language(also not true) and accused us of flipping her off(we were pointing at the boy using our ball to prove that we weren't ""breaking the rules""). Well that was not good enough for her, she shut us down and she was not changing her mind! We are very disappointed in this place. We were really enjoying ourselves until we were shut down unjustly! Oh well, now we know, never go back to that place. I wish we hadn't spent 50 bucks on beer, lane rental, and shoe rentals now. Live and learn. It's true that the beer and lanes are cheap here, but you get exactly what you pay for. I'm sure they're nice enough to league people, but don't bother if you're not in a league. I have never been treated so rudely in my life. Came with a group of married, late 20something couples (let's be specific -- nicely dressed, not looking for trouble). There was an hour left until closing. This alley has a ""rent a lane by the hour"" price but the nasty-attitude counter lady (blonde, weathered, 45-ish) harangued us from the get-go, first insisting that our group would never finish a game in an hour, then baldly stating that she wouldn't give us a whole hour on the lane even if we paid for an hour, then spending several minutes griping because we wouldn't pay the higher ""per-game"" price. (Why would we pay more for the ""per game"" rate when you've already told us that we won't finish even one game??) From that point on, even though we were polite to her, nasty counter lady had it out for us because we wouldn't pay the higher rate. Any female going here should know that they keep ALL bowling b alls below 12 lbs behind the counter and will only give out one per lane, no matter how many women/children are playing. Nasty counter lady, on her power trip, refused to give us anything other than a child-size 8-lb ball with tiny child-size finger holes (useless for a grown person). She then shut off our lane 15 minutes early for a variety of made-up reasons, including ""you stole someone else's ball"" (?!?). She also insisted that we ""flipped her off"" (?!?). Don't waste your money on this place (unless you're craving some rudeness in your life). By the way, the place is a total dump. Everything that could be in bad repair, is in bad repair. I'm a league bowler, and will start my FOURTH season here on Monday night. The staff is very friendly! Yes, it is an older bowling center but the prices are very good. The facility is kept reasonably clean. My team and I love it, especially since it became SMOKE FREE!!! Y'all come on down to Pearland Bowl, and have a good time. Pros: Good prices! Cons: Older facilty that needs updating. more

OMFG!!!this place is amazing i love their prices and frankly i am very satisfied with the service they are good people as i am a 14 yr old youth bowler on the lg there and i hope to have this alley kept here 4ever Pros: Everything they have everything perfect Cons: NOTHING!!! more

I was shocked after reading the previous reviews because my experience was nothing like the other three posted. Not once but twice I have been in the last 6 months and read the posting on the door about cash only but an ATM is also provided. We took four kids the first time and 2 the second and had a great time. They even assited us in finding the right size ball we were looking for for one of the kids. The counter help was pleasant and the food and prices are unbeatable with families trying to find something to do for entertainment that does not require you to spend an easy 75 dollars in doing so. Planning on going back this weekend as a matter of fact and promise that if my experience is any different than the previous two I will let you know. Most of the prior reviews are correct. The first time we visited this center, our experience was similar to the reviews already posted. It should not be this way, but the way you are treated at this bowling alley is dependent on whether you are on a league. They will usually accept checks if you bowl on a league and have a history of writing good checks on the league. They cater to those on the leagues most likely because that is where most of their revenue comes from. The alley could really use an overhaul. However, the prices to bowl and to eat are great. That is how they keep a lot of their clientel. I'm sure if an overhaul were done, it would cost a LOT more to bowl. I have visited other lanes that were almost as old, but in a little bit better condition, and prices were a whole lot higher. Another thing to note, is the pro shop is practically non-existent. It is rarely open. They really miss out on a lot of revenue by not having a pro shop, especially from the league bowlers. I would avoid taking children during adult league times due to the adult environment (language, beer, etc.). Other than that, it is ok for children. The last time I checked, it was smoke free. Most of the staff needs to be replaced. Especially the ones at the front desk. They are slow and very uninterested in whether or not you have a good experience. If another Bowling Alley opens in this town this Alley will be out of business overnight. Avoid this place at all cost. Pros: Location Cons: Staff more

Management and cashiers are very unfriendly. They act as if you are bothering them for being in their establishment and doing you a favor by putting up with your financial offerings to bowl there. They do not take CREDIT, CHECKS, or DEBIT cards. Cash is the only means of bowling here, and they dont even seem to be very enthusiastic to take if from you. Their hours are very ridiculous as they change from week to week. I can't wait until another bowling center in the Pearland area opens, as I will be there and not here. It can't get much worse for bowling than Pearland Bowling Center... Pros: You get to bowl, maybe... Cons: You dont know if you will get to bowl due to their hours... more
