Amazing orchids!!!!!!! 5/13/2008

I was blown away the second I stepped into this orchid oasis in Culver City. Winding through hundreds of orchids each more beautiful then the next.... and I was amazed by the prices. It is the highest quality for the lowest price I have seen in LA. The staff is helpful and the orchids I bought have lasted five times as long as the ones I have picked up at TJ's or florist. This is my new favorite spot! more

Great place to learn about and buy orchids at an excellent price! 3/8/2008

I had stopped in to look around and one of the staff members was very helpful and nice in showing me around, pointing out the different products they carry, explaining what they do (e.g. they mostly sell wholesale and can make arrangements but it's not core business, etc.). I went back a few weeks later and purchased supplies (orchids, planters/pots, moss, etc) to make several table centerpieces for an event - with the assistance of the woman who helped me during my first visit. The prices are comparable to the downtown L.A. Flower Mart but much more convenient and less chaotic. They only sell plants and no cut flowers but that can work to your advantage. I had several plant displays but I also had cut flower displays. I purchased one orchid plant with 4 giant spikes for $30 - compare that to the $25 per stem that the Flowers Wholesale shop on Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood charges. The prices will vary depending on the stage of the bloom. For example, I bought 3 of the same orchid plant on sale and the prices were something like $18, $20, $23. I know you can buy orchids just about everywhere now (e.g. Trader Joe's, etc) but if you want a wide selection in stock without having to pre-order and most importantly you need orchid-advice/expertise, this is the place to go!\r \r I would give Orchid Fever 4-1/2 stars if I could. It was a really good experience but not a perfect one. For instance, the woman who helped me carry my many plants to the car was very rough with my plants. I was planning to use the orchids as displays and she was shoving them in my car and running the entire length of the blooms along the top edge of my car as she was putting them in, etc. It made me cringe and I tried to joke that luckily orchids are hardy plants! Pros: Large instock selection of orchids and supplies, orchid expertise, excellent value more

Orchid Fever 2/21/2008

This is a wonderful orchid store. They have a terrific variety of orchids and pots to put them in and the staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. The prices are also reasonable. The koi and turtle pond at the front of the store under a vine covered rock wall is beautiful. more

Beautiful flowers, reasonable prices 11/11/2007

This is a very cute orchid store in Culver City. The sales lady was very helpful, although when I asked for a pot/vase she showed me a more expensive one rather than the regular terra cota ones first. Otherwise though, they have beautiful orchids, which I bought as a present, and was more reasonably priced than a similar one I saw at a nearby nursery. Pros: Beautiful flowers and interior, plenty of street parking more

great choice, lots of variety 5/31/2006

Very conventiently located in Culver City this flower shop is one of my favorite. They are open everyday of the week and service is really top notch! They always give me great advice on arragements and which kind of bouquet to send. I especially love their roses because they have such a wide range of choices. The prices are reasonable. So this is a good place to buy mom's flowers or co-workers... more

I love the fact that they are open 7 days a week and they are never late on my orders. They are behind Sony where there are lots of retail shops and coffee shops as well as post office, banks, etc. so it's very convenient to run your errands together! more

It's Contagious 4/18/2005

Orchid Fever has gorgeous flowers and plants. And their slogan (as quoted above) is hot , too! Literally! I first saw their flowers at The Coffee Conservatory, also in Culver City, and found them stunning. more

  • Orchid Fever is one of L.A.'s hidden botanical treasures. We have 10,000 square feet of greenhouses filled with thousands of orchid plants, hundreds of bromeliads, and a wide variety of houseplants. The primary goal at Orchid fever is to maximize plant life after purchase. Since we buy almost every plant in tight bud, these plants then acclimate in our greenhouses for an average of two weeks before they bloom and are ready for sale.. One of the fastest growing services at Orchid Fever is the creation of floral arrangements using intact plants in bloom rather than cut flowers. Leaving the flowers attached to the plants greatly increases the longevity of these arrangements,as well as incorporating the realism and beauty of the foliage itself. Also, the plants can be regrown once they have finished blooming.
