Mongolian Barbeque

Mongolian BBQ has great food, of course it's great, I made it myself! All kidding aside, I do love their food, but I definitely avoid the restaurant during dinner hours. We prefer to go for an early weekend lunch-the prices are lower, and the place is empty. I've been with friends/family for a social outing, and it's much too difficult to try and time each trip up for seconds with your group. You end up missing! more

There's no denying Mongolian BBQ's appeal - it's a fun alternative to the traditional night out to dinner - yet, I can't help but get the feeling I'm doing all the work while the waitstaff is getting all the tips! Not only that, it's a little pricey: about $12.99 per person for the food (and drinks are extra). And no matter if you create only one stir-fry bowl or go up 3 or 4 times and have soup and salad...you still end up spending paying $12.99, and there are no cheaper options. The other problem I have is, unless you're on the same 'stir-fry schedule' as the friends you're dining with, you end up missing out on a lot of conversation and time together while you're off preparing your food and having it grilled. It's a great restaurant in concept, but lately I've been feeling like if I'm going to go out to dinner, I want to sit there and enjoy my company while I relax and let the waitstaff serve me...not stand in line all night waiting for my food to cook! more

Mongolian BBQ is one of the most enjoyable dining experiences you can have. The only option is to "create your own stir-fry," there are no menus, other than for drinks and dessert. You choose what meat, veggies, sauces, and spices you would like, then bring your bown to the huge grill. The grillers cook everything, adding oil to keep the food moist, and you take it back to your table where rice and tortilla shells (and your drinks!) are waiting. It's a reasonable price for all-you-can-eat, and you can try as many creations as you'd like. It's great! more

If you have never been to Mongolian Barbeque, I recommend you get off your butt and go right now! It's a totally different dinner experience. You build your own meal from the buffet, and then bring it to the cook and they fry it up for you right there in front of you. The waitstaff is very friendly and on the ball with refills, which is great! I recommend reservations though because without them your wait for a table could be VERY long! more
