As you can see from the subject, this place has the best prices for video rental. All dvds in the store including seasons of tv shows, new releases cost only 1.49 a day to rent. They usually have a good stock of movies available. They also rent ps2 and xbox games if you're interested in those however I'm not sure about the pricing of those. I enjoyed the selection of foreign movies they had as well as boxes of tv shows. more

This is a great alternative to blockbuster, it is located directly in state college within walking distance to Penn State University. Mike's Movies & Music offers one day rentals for $1.49 even for new rentals!!! The staff is very knowledge and can answer any questions or just ask them what they would want to see....I'm sure you will get some very interesting answers. more

If you are in a town with little by way of cultural attractions, one can usually hope for a good video and/or music store that will supply lots of rare, little known, and foreign titles. Unfortunately, Mike's doesn't fill that role in State College. Really the only thing it has going for it is that is cheaper than Blockbuster. At $1.49 a night, it is a very good deal since you usually want to watch the movie that night anyway. Otherwise, I am very disappointed by the selection of videos. The music selection, however, is decent (this refers to a different Mike's location). It is a little skewed towards some obscure punk music, but they do have a nice listening wall that fills out a nice variety. The used music section is nothing to brag about. more

Mike's is undeniably the best place to rent movies from in town, but what is also great about Mike's is that they will buy your old CDs and DVDs. If you just want to get rid of clutter or make some quick cash, then Mike's is the place for you. They can be a little picky, for example, they won't take CDs that are scratched, or that they have a lto of in stock, but I've had great expereinces selling my unwanted CDs there. Sometimes it takes a while (30 minutes) for them to go through your music if they are busy, so go when you have extra time. more

Watch out Blockbuster and Hollywood Video! Here comes Mike's! Eventhough Mike's has been around a long time, most people skip over going there. Sure, Blockbuster and Hollywood Video have their gimmicks and coupons to get into their stores to rent but Mike's has no reason to. They consistantly have new releases in stock and available, even on Friday nights! I have proven this many times. They also do not charge $4 to rent a movie. They only charge $1.49 per night. Now if you are like me, you rent movies to watch them that night so who cares if I can get a movie for 5 or 7 days at the other guys? They also have great deals on movies that you can buy. Often super cheap! Check them out. It's definately worth it!! more

Mike's movie store is a great place to rent movies. Whereas the store seems like a small store, their selection is so much better than many other stores. If you want to borrow DVDs, this is the place to go. Apart from new movies, they have sections where you can find the best movies of all times, and within every genre. For example, even for foreign movies this is the store with the best selection in town. All items here are on a flat price which was, I believe, 1.49 or 1.99 per day. No deposits, just show your driver's license. Very convenient location. Quite good, I definitely recommend. more
