I am very disappointed by Massie Roofing. There work started out so good and then things turned so bad. They were installing Spanish tile on my house but because of the amount of time it takes to manufacture tiles, the tiles have to be ordered up to 6 months in advance. Massie indicated it would take months to get the material. Discouraged by this, my wife managed to find a supplier on-line and Massie told us to purchase the tile and they would install it. This all sounded fine until the tile order turned out to be 25% high. When I asked Massie to give me a reduction on the on the $18,100 installation price because there were 3 pallets of unused tiles valued at $4000 including shipping, they said they said ?no.? At that time, the last $2500 of the $18,100 contract was yet to be paid so I offered to give them the tile to use on their future projects in exchange for a $2000 credit against the $2500 I owed them on the contract. This meant I would accept half the financial burden of their error even though the situation was no fault of mine. Again they said ?no.? All the while that these discussions were occurring, Massie filed a Mechanic's Lien against my house for the unpaid balance of $2500 on the contract. As such, I am now litigating the matter with Massie over the $4000 and I have 3 pallets of tiles in my front yard that I have to hire a forklift and flatbed truck to haul away at additional expense. Moreover, I expect to incur costs to remove the Mechanic?s Lien. The whole situation is a nightmare.
Pros: Good Workmanship
Cons: Unethical
