Gone from Bad to Worse 2/5/2007

The place is dirty which is also evident from the City of Irving health inspection score of a 75(C grade). I have visited the location before but today was my last visit. I am tired of inconsistent food and marginal service. Quality of food has taken a turn for the worse it is to the point that it is not even worth visiting the place. When it first opened they had a good Manager who actually cared about service and food but now it is like no one really cares about what they serve. more

Not exactly what I was in the mood for. 8/8/2006

Hmmmm. Where to begin. It was clean. The prices where a little too high for an entree with that much rice in it. $7 to $9 but I still left hungry. But I just couldn't tell what they were going for here. Is everyone ready for the Indo-Chinese thing? Did they accomplish bringing this type of food to us? I'm still not sure. I mean I under stood the ordering process and the menu-- vegetarian, chicken, lamb.....but it just was too much effort for a hungry person. We have some vegetarians in our lunch group and I suppose for them it was good change. The food could be ordered spicy or mild, it just didn't seem to be an option that was able to help this food out. It seemed too much like they were going for a trendy, Indian, fast food place. I would compare it to the same feeling I get from Chipolte having that trendy, Mexican, fast food thing going on. If I were feeling like eating a little healthier I would probably go back. But gees, I think I would have rather have had a Big Mac and fries. more

Masala is just ok, I suppose. 7/11/2006

I won't deny that it is hip and cool in there, and true enough , the prices aren't that bad. I'm just not sure it's all that. The chicken in my tika masala was tough and overcooked, and I ordered a blazing noodle dish or something similar from the Indo -Chinese side, and was reminded of a jazzed up bag of ramen noodles. One dish that is actually pretty good is their Saag Paneer, a little on the creamy side, but they can spice it up for you if you like. more

Nice indian taste 8/18/2005

We used to go there once in a week. Most of our weekends, we dine out and we choose Masala wok as the first choice. They have a good selection of indian and chinese food and the price is also very less compared to other restaurents. Under $20 we get a two meal and another side for my kid. All of my friends also like this place. The service is also good. more

Masala Wok 8/5/2005

Masala Wok is hot. It's cool. It's wow. It's not like the other Indian restaurants. The food is as innovative as the décor. It's a little like a fast-food place, but the quality is very good. The menu is edgy, offering both Northern Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine – Chinese wok-style cooking but with hotter Indian spices. Pricing is simple: Vegetarian dishes are $6.25. Any chicken dish is $6.75, lamb is $7.75 and shrimp is $8.75. more
