Laser Zone

I had my son's 11th birthday party here and he and his friends had a great time. The games were 20 minutes in length (many places offer 10 or 15 minute games) and our hostess (Denitsa) was helpful and sweet. The manager Marvelle was very helpful and he made sure we were completely satisfied. The party room was clean and served it's purpose. I had my Party there when the lady from the last review was there, her party was 30 minutes before my party, so her kids played right before my kids. My kids where 10 and 11 years old while here kids look much younger, unfortunley are equipment work Fine a couple kids came out do to the packs fallen off but they got back in their pretty fast, Our party room was clean the tables where clean and the floor look to be clean, when the party mom was paying i was at the front counter talking to the manager and every thing seem to be find intil he told her how much her balance was then she got up set and had me thinking negative also. But the manager tried to make it right for her but she just kept saying what a scam. So when it came time for my bill it was accurate just what i had calculated i dont know why she was so up set .Everything was fine and accurate i recommend this to any one who has kids 8 years and up Pros: Realy Good Place for Kids Cons: Game can Be confusing to younger kids more

By far the worst experience I have EVER had for a kid's birthday party. Let's see: the place was FILTHY...our party room had old food all over the floor, the tables were sticky and disgusting. There was constant equipment malfunctions so none of the kids had adequate playing time. I found the manager Marvelle playing online poker during this time instead of trying to deal with the situation. But the most outrageous part of the whole thing...on Monday I called manager Marvelle to verify the price and on Wed at the party he added on an extra $55 dollars! WHAT A SCAM & RIP OFF. I was embarrassed to have the parents see the condition of this place. It is run down. Please visit this place prior to scheduling a party. Better yet...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the Lazer Zone for our son's 5th birthday party! The staff was very accommodating leading up to the event and they were very helpful during the event. They had their hands full with a group of 5 year olds whose battery packs kept falling off and who had lots of questions, but the staff members were very patient and kind to the kids. They kept things moving on time and took care of the clean up in the party room, etc. Lazer Zone was flexible with our needs and the kids all loved the party! We held our daughter's party there a few years ago and also had a great experience! more

Overbooked, chaotic, broken equipment. Staff is disorganized. Made us wait with 12 hyper 8 year olds for over 30 minutes before party started. Other parents were in lobby screaming at staff due to their own disorganized parties. Don't go. It is awful. Pros: None Cons: Only go if you want to be frustrated and angry more

Terrible experience. Place was overbooked. Even though we had a reserved time, needed to wait over an hour to play once. Much of the equipment was not working and the place was filthy. Staff did NOT care at all. Would never go back. Also noted when reading other reviews, many of their recent postive comments were posted on the same date by "Jimmy". Jimmy must be the owner as no customer would rate this place as anything other than cruddy. Their last postive review (besides Jimmy was in 2005). WILL NEVER GO BACK. more

We had a party for our 7 year old son. In fairness to the place, he had been at Lazer Zone many time and had fun. However, our experience was terrible. They lost our reservation and put us in the lobby. There were too many kids in the place and not enough working equipment. The worst part was the completely unresponsive staff. At one point 30 kids were trying to get working equipment while one staff person helped them. Keep in mind that their 20 minute game cycle is rapidly running out. The remaining "staff" of three was sitting at the register eating pizza. When parents asked them for help, you would think we were making unreasonable demands. Several of the 15 kids at our party only got a few moments of active play time and a lot of frustration. It was very disappointing for them and terribly frustrating for us. We would never recommend that anyone trust Lazer Zone with their kid's party. It is just not worth the hassle or the money. Also, the equipment seems to be in poor condition and antiquated. The previous reviews and our son's own prior experience indicates that this could be a good place. One is left to believe that Lazer Zone in Glenview has been left in the hands of terribly uninterested and unmotived young men. The owner needs to take a serious look at who is running his or her business. If the owner was there, he or she needs to find a new business. I've got two kids, and both have had a great time at their birthday parties because both of them where held at Lazer Zone. I guess the game is more complicated than I thought, because they usually end up talking about who did what to whom for about a week or so after. And of course, they always want to play more. Can't ask for much more out of a birthday party atmosphere. Pros: Kids will have a blast, and plenty of room for them to run around and play more

Ok, I'm a 43 year old man and I took my 8 year old daughter to Lazer Zone for a birthday party, and being Daddy's girl, she of course had me play inside the arena for the Lazer battles. Not only did the entire party of 15 have a total blast blasting each other (pun intended!), but I was shocked how much FUN I had running around the arena. Pretty cool strategy game built into the Lazer Zone experience, and I'm just happy I listened to my daughter when she asked to have her party there. We plan on going back some time, and don't plan on waiting a whole year for another birthday party! Pros: Kids go crazy having a blast and the big arena is perfect for this type of thing. more

Just wanted to agree w/ my husband that everybody loved their party at Lazer Zone, and if you could have seen my husband running around with a huge smile on his face, you would realize it's a fun place for the adults as well as the kids, which is something different from most party type places we've used before.
