Here in Miami on vacation and we were out for a nice dinner on Lincoln. We've eaten at Soprano's previously and really enjoyed it. We nearly went back and after this experience ...

Small portions with a large price tag. Tastes alright if your'e still awake when the food finally arrives. The kids got their food in less than ten minutes, but then we had to wait another hour for ours. more

I just can't get over the poor service. After asking our waiter and person seating for our check, nothing happened until I spoke to what appeared to me a manager. I think his mom owns the place (she brought our food to us), but she didn't recognize what the dishes were.\r \r Such a disappointment. more

Great pasta and good service. A relief for italian food in the middle of highly touristic area, where you feel pushed to eat rather than enjoying a meal. Don't miss the fetuccini with truffle/parmiggiano more

Absolutely amazing! Our food was delicious (I had the carbonara) and their wine list is extensive and excellent. Flavio, one of the owners, made sure that we had everything we needed and was both helpful and entertaining throughout the meal. He and his sister made sure we had everything we needed an checked on us often. This is one of the best dinners I've ever had and one that I won't soon forget! more

Had a great experience last night. Dining alone is always an adventure so just wandered by. Appetizer was a caprese salad with procuitto. Yumm. Wine was 3.50 a glass. Main course of pasta wlight and unusual with figs in the sauce. I liked it. more

Here in Miami on vacation and we were out for a nice dinner on Lincoln. We've eaten at Soprano's previously and really enjoyed it. We nearly went back and after this experience with La Lupa di Roma, we were seriously regretting that decision to try something new. While the food wasn't bad, it wasn't great either but that's not the reason for my poor review of the restaurant. \r \r We had a dish served that tasted completely "off" and was inedible. When we tried to have the dish swapped out for something else, the owner ("Momma") came out and simply started berating us all. "I am right and you are wrong. This is my best dish" she kept repeating over and over. The one bite we tried constituted "ruining" her dish so she refused to exchange it. Not only did she refuse but the degree to which she tried to belittle us for even asking left us all bewildered. I've heard service can be bad in Miami but have never been treated this poorly in any restaurant ever! And to top it off, they tried to charge a mandatory gratuity which I in turn mandated they remove.\r \r As a result, I certainly won't be returning and will make certain everyone heading for Miami now knows about this place and how they like to treat their "customers". Unbelievable! more

I will start by saying how incredibly sorry I feel for the people that had bad reviews....this restraunt is on me and husbands top 5 in Miami. The food here is 200% quality and real deal (sorry gringas/gringos but you are not going to get yr eggplant Parm sub in this fine establishment). The wait staff has ALWAYS been caring, not overbearing and helpful....my husband ordered a dish and the waiter suggested something else on the menu that was actually Italian and not Italian twisted into a heaping mess of Lincoln road south beach crap. As for the nimwits that actually reviewed this poorly because of bad English spoken by the waiters.....please go back to Kansas and eat yr wonderbread with country crock spread more

I love this place. Make sure you talk to the owner you will see him walking around and you will have great service. He will tell you what to order or not to order. I went here twice this last week. Order the seafood soup it is amazing!! more

The server was terrible, he filled the order incorrectly and never came back to the table to ask if everything was okay. The cheese plate was served with brown grapes. When asked about the poor food, the waiter stated the kitchen put them on the plate. Completely unacceptable! The pasta while al dente was hard and almost brittle. \r \r the gratuity is automatically included so they have no incentive to do a good job and to provide quality service. I will never visit this restaurant again. more

OK - The restaurant looks very cute. The menu looked good. We got Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and veal picata. It was ok. I wouldn't rave about it. My food was marginally above Ragu. Also, the wait staffs English is pretty bad. Our waiter basically couldn't speak English but then again its Miami what do you expect. FINALLY AND THE NUMBER ONE REASON NOT TO GO THERE - they store the bottled water and soda cans in the bathroom. Yes, that bottle water you are sipping has been inches from someone's rear end. Oh did I mention the bathrooms are nearly in the Kitchen? more

True Italian food. Homemade gnochi was amazing. Not the best service, but it is Miami. more

Be treated like family in South Beach...good food too! 1/19/2008

Anyone who knows South Miami Beach knows that it can be a *lot* of fun but that it's also a pretty superficial place. Yet in the midst of it all, La Lupa di Roma is a quaint family restaurant that will take good care of you. The food is excellent; the prices are fair; the wine list is excellent and not overpriced; and the waiter will be as enjoyable as the food. Pros: Service is especially good. Cons: Parking is tough for the entire Lincoln Road area. more

Never again! 9/6/2007

Having wandered Lincoln looking for a good place for dinner we decided to try La Lupa di Roma. All went well until the food arrived. My linguini with shrimp in tomato sauce arrived wtih 3 giant whole shrimp, heads, tails and shells intact. I asked the waiter if he could have the kitchen shell the shrimp which took 3 waiters to understand what I wanted. When it came back the dish tasted as though anchovy juice had been poured through it - it was so pungent , disgusting and strong it was inedible. My partner had the gnocchi which we were assured was one of their best dishes. The gnocchi varied from undercooked and floury to quite hard. No one checked on us throughout the meal. When they came to clear I very nicely and apologetically let them know I couldn't eat the dish. They had conniptions and called over the owner who - get this - TOOK MY FORK AND ATE OFF MY PLATE!! She then yelled at me saying it was my fault as I had sprinkled parmesan cheese on the dish! She eventually stormed off from the table, not offering another dish nor an apology, slammed the check down and stormed off again. None of the waiters would even look at us after that let alone speak to us. We even walked the check to the waiter rather than leave cash on the table and he bade us farewell with a prize winning scowl. There are too many great places to eat on South Beach to bother with this one. The food was horrible and the attitude of the owner was just plain rude. Pros: Nice outdoor setting Cons: Food, service, attitude of owner stinks more

A Real Miami Beach Experience 8/1/2007

This is my favorite restaurant on Miami Beach. This is why you come to Miami Beach; to have a relaxing dinner in one of the world?s most famous locations. The restaurant is family owned and operated. The staff is personable and professional. The staff does not rush you through dinner to quickly free up the table for the next customer, nor do they serve sub par food with an expensive price tag to unsuspecting tourists. The Niccis want you to enjoy yourself. You can?t go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorite is the chicken and pear. It?s been taken off the menu, because so many people tried to alter it, but if you ask for it, they?ll make it for you. The lasagnas are her specialties, and the steaks are the best on Lincoln road. The wine list is impressive and extensive. When it is time for dessert, don?t take the opportunity to see what else is on Lincoln Road. The best tiramisu is here, and the also have a great chocolate offering which is not ice cream or gelato. more
