Best

My wife and I flew in to Boston and stayed at the Holiday Inn express in Braintree. I asked the girl at the desk where was the best place for new England Seafood. She said Jimbo...

Worst

Me, my wife and 6 year old son along with my sister and her son went to Jimbos on Friday night. And I have to say it was one of the WORSE eating out experiences that I have had. ...

There have obviously been some upgrades and some renovations 10/4/2007

The food was great, there were four of us and we shared two appetizers. The crab cakes were great - lots of crab. The calamari was fresh not that rubbery frozen stuff. I had the ribs, fantastic sauce, fall off the bone boy was I surprised. my buddy had a burger and declared that it was the best burger he had ever had. The menu says that it is 100percent prime meat and he said it was great. His girl had the fish sampler and she said it was great also. The server was nice and not pushy. She was prompt and knew the menu as we asked a lot of questions. I have been back twice since our first visit and each time it has been great. You should go. more

Ok American food 3/17/2006

Jimbos has your basic American fare. They have a decent selection of dishes and their food is good but not great. The service leaves a lot to be desired and I agree with other posts that the place is not being kept up. There are better restaurants in the area for the type of food and price. more

Cheap, but not great service 8/25/2005

This is a centrally located restaurant at the five corners in Braintree. It is good for the family, as it isn't expensive and has kid friendly cuisine. It wasn't bad years ago, but has been allowed to run down a bit, and needs some work. The food is ok, as is the service. more

Editorial
  • In Short
Longtime favorites of area families looking for an affordable seafood meal, Jimbo's Boston and Braintree locations feature lengthy menus of classic fish dishes (scrod au gratin, stuffed shrimp casserole, broiled bluefish) and kid-approved fare (pizza, tuna melts). The clam chowder has won numerous awards, and the popular Greek salad is large enough for three. Fried seafood platters come in "lite" and full portions, and there are plenty of low-carb options for those watching their weight.
