We are regulars to this one-block-from-the beach restaurant in downtown Rehoboth Beach Delaware. We go to the Beach community here three times a year and eat at Jake's at least one evening and sometimes twice each week we are here.
Generally, our group prefers the crabcakes. They can be served either fried or broiled. We far perfer the broiled. You can also order them either as an entry (two nice size cakes and two sides) or as a sandwich (get it on the Kaiser Roll with one side). The sides include good french fries and usually reliable corn on the cob in season. The cole slaw is a disappointment and the "mixed vegetables" (microwaved frozen assortment of carrots, green beans, and such) is a major turnoff.
Jake's also offers up a variety of seafood regulars -- fish and chips, shrimp (boiled or friend), and scallops. We also see a couple of tables with burgers and other meat dishes. They must have seafood allergies and are "taking one in the chin for the good of the group."
They also have a changing series of specials. But we go elsewhere for better versions of most of these -- salmon, etc.
Families with kids take note -- they have a kid's menu and offer an activity book and crayons to all who are interested.
