After many years of frustration with other physicians, I was referred to Dr. Susan Lacks. She has impressed me with her thoroughness, attention to patient needs, compassion, and most up to date knowledge of treatment options. She is a bundle of energy in a small package. And she almost immediately puts you at ease that she is focused, compassionate, and ready to help you in whatever way is necesssary. She immediately changed my medicines in part because of a sightly different diagnosis than my previous doctors. She has monitored my case closely and has even consulted via phone when necessary as I have sometimes needed her advice when on business or vacation travel due to flair ups or injuries.
I can't say enough good things about her and her way with patients. If you need a good physician, see her.

Circle has been in business for some sixty years. They've proven over time that they know their customers and know what they want. This place has very good selection range for wines in particular, but also champagnes, brandies, and other spirits. There is customer parking behind the store and they are convenient to use. They offer a discount for case purchases and will even deliver for some orders -- let's NOT think frat party.
The price range is very broad and the most important thing is they will give you really good advice. I've particularly enjoyed the "seasoned" recommendations of Circle's knowledgable staff. They've really steered me on to some great values -- not just the most expensive. They take time to listen to your preferences and tailor what they know to what you know -- whether that's a lot or just a little.
We sometimes buy from Paul's over on Wisconsin because it is convenient for us. But when we have the time, this is the place to go.

We've been shopping at Paul's for just over a decade. Mostly we buy wine, a few select spirits, and sometiimes champagne or proseco. The store is very conveniently located on upper Wisconsin Avenue and it offers parking for customers. So it makes it a bit easier to do the quick trip among errands on Saturday or even on Friday evening. Their selection of wines is reasonably good -- I wouldn't say great -- but it has all the types you'd expect and a price range in each to select from. My only pet peeve is that for some reason they have a limited selection of Vouvray's. This happens to be my spouse's favorite and there's only maybe three selections and the least expensive one is quite disappointing. Otherwise on cabernets, pinot noirs, merlots, its a pretty good range.
The staff is friendly and always welcoming. I suppose they'll give you good advice if you ask but they aren't really forthcoming. They DO offer free sign up for an online newsletter and have regular free tastings. But I haven't participated in those -- takes too much time on a hectic weekend.
All in all, they are convenient to my neighborhood, offer a reasonable selection and price. Worth zipping by. But for more choices and better advice, I'd hop over to Circle Liquor on Connecticut Ave.

We have purchased two cars -- and done two trade ins -- with Jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda. And I try to make sure that I'm well prepared and set the terms of the dealing to my advantage. This dealership has done what I've asked and done the dealing they way I wanted to.
Before I buy, I know exactly what model and trim package I want. I let the salesperson know that I will purchase that car within the next week. I tell them they can bid for the business but they should only quote the final bottomline price -- after all charges, taxes, and even license tags. Then I tell them I will be calling three dealerships -- two in the DC metro area and one 90 miles away. They have one opportunity to quote a price.
In both instances, Coleman either matched or beat the best price that I could get through this approach to putting the pressure on them rather than on me as the buyer.
I have also used Coleman's service department and, on one occassion, the body shop at the Coleman Cadillac dealership next door. I have been satisfied with all the work they've done. However, I don't use them for routine oil changes and such as their prices seem high and they are not THAT convenient for me.

Lingo's market has already passed its 75th year of operation. That is some milestone and suggests the place has more than met customers' needs for generations.
In fact, although the place is minuscule by modern supermarket standards, it harkens back to the age of the neighborhood grocer that knew its customers -- and what they wanted. Lingo's has upscaled its goods to reflect the disposable incomes of many of the beach community's vacationers. That's not even to mention the locals who are sitting in houses that exceed $1m.
Don't go to Lingo's for produce, although they can sometimes offer local produce like fresh corn. That is more the exception than the rule. But you will find the essentials and a few other "nice touches" -- such as a fairly extensive selection of daily papers, fresh baked goods (pick the filled croissants over the blueberry muffins), and you can even get a fairly tasty roasted chicken off the spits in the back to put together a nice little evening meal for the family or the gang.
Do your major shopping out on Hwy 1 at the Giant, but do stop by and pick up whatever you've forgotten at Lingo's.

Strosniders Hardware is perhaps the perfect combination of a very wide range of products, good prices, and friendly and helpful advice. Now days, with the predominance of the big chain home stores, this is an incredibly difficult combination to find in a single store. They offer a full range of supplies for painting, electical, plumbing, and lawn and garden. They even offer a good rang eof products for kitchens, storage, and arts/crafts products.
Since the late -- but not lemented -- departure of Hechinger's Hardware that used to be on upper Wisconsin Ave, Strosniders is one of the few hardware stores that isn't a long drive from our upper northwest Washington neighborhood. But even if it was a much longer drive, it would no doubt be worth the effort. These people are the best in helping you find what you need. In one case, I had a plumbing problem and was going to replace a stem for a bathroom faucet. I brought it in and the helpful hardware man fixed the problem by making his own part! What service!

We have recently completed a second job of painting using Tenleytown Painting in the American University Park area of Upper Northwest Washington. The first job, done a year ago, was exterior house painting. The second, completed only recently, was for extensive interior painting. So we have diverse experiences in a range of different kinds of jobs with this company.
In both cases, we had two to three bids on the job. In both cases, Tenleytown Painting, gave us the best price and best terms for the proposed job. The owner is a long-time local resident and really knows this neighborhood. That seems to make him eager to give a good price to get the jobs available in this community.
His company did everything from moving around furniture, through preparation work such as filling holes, sanding, and priming, on to the painting and an excellent job of clean up after the work was completed.
We have and do recommend using this company.

We are regulars to this one-block-from-the beach restaurant in downtown Rehoboth Beach Delaware. We go to the Beach community here three times a year and eat at Jake's at least one evening and sometimes twice each week we are here.
Generally, our group prefers the crabcakes. They can be served either fried or broiled. We far perfer the broiled. You can also order them either as an entry (two nice size cakes and two sides) or as a sandwich (get it on the Kaiser Roll with one side). The sides include good french fries and usually reliable corn on the cob in season. The cole slaw is a disappointment and the "mixed vegetables" (microwaved frozen assortment of carrots, green beans, and such) is a major turnoff.
Jake's also offers up a variety of seafood regulars -- fish and chips, shrimp (boiled or friend), and scallops. We also see a couple of tables with burgers and other meat dishes. They must have seafood allergies and are "taking one in the chin for the good of the group."
They also have a changing series of specials. But we go elsewhere for better versions of most of these -- salmon, etc.
Families with kids take note -- they have a kid's menu and offer an activity book and crayons to all who are interested.
