Best

I've been coming to Jade for about a year now and the food & service never disappoint! Try the tapas & specialty rolls or go for some Indian cuisine, really, it's all DELISH! I'...

Worst

Nice atmosphere, but the food could be better.

not a place for good food 8/26/2009

if you wanna have fun with friends , this place is for you. Pros: cool place Cons: worse than $5 takeout main course more

the worst food ever!!! 8/26/2009

this place doesn't even deserve one star. we went to celebrate our anniversary, but this place completely ruined our supposed to be romantic dinner. $6 dollar for 4 tiny piece dimsum looked so ugly with grayish color, and there's so much starch in the dimsum, when you chew it , the texture is just like marshmallow. $18 dollar sweet and sour crispy JUMBO shrimps had only 5 SMALL shrimps with plenty of canned pineapple chunks which tasted so bad so artificial!!!!!! I hope we don't get sick tonight . Orange beef tasted just like rubber, we didn't even bother to eat that anymore after tried couple pieces. If we finished we might be in the emergency room already. they charged us $1 for tiny little dish of chili sauce which tasted terrible. The water was not chilled, right our from the faucet . Come on , this is summer!!! never seen any restaurant serving this kind of warm water in summer. we were so upset, complained to their boss, he said you shouldn't have eaten all the shrimp dish if it tasted funny, so he can't ask the chef to taste it.But there were only 5 little shrimps!!! we each had two, and there's one shrimp left on the plate. Is that called fishing it all? If one shrimp wasn't enough for the chef to taste his own cooking, what about the customer? I never wrote a review in my life, but this time I really need to tell people about this terrible place. so that no more people will such bad experience. !!! If you don't want to get sick and get completely upset plus waste your hard earned money , please don't go to JADE . You'll definitely regret . Pros: new Cons: terrible terrible food more

great food 6/2/2009

Great Ambiance at this Asian Ecletcic Restaurant. Food is great, fresh. Drinks are good, a bit pricey though. I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner with friends. its kind of noisey, they have a DJ on Friday nights. more

Good Idea, Average Execution 2/16/2009

Given the wide availability of excellent Asian cuisine in Queens, it's perhaps unsurprising that good Asian fusion restaurants are rare here. Jade is thus a welcome addition to the restaurant/lounge options in Forest Hills. Pros: location, good appetizers, good drinks Cons: uninteresting entrees more

Excellent Asian food. 12/22/2008

Have eaten at Jade a few times as well as ordered take out food and the food has always been consistently very good to excellent. More expensive than your average Asian restaurant but service and food are excellent. Just a little bit pricey in my opinion, but service, food and ambiance are all excellent. Pros: Food, service and ambiance. Cons: Pricey more

Coolest place in town 12/2/2008

The space pretty much speaks for itself. Hip dj / trendy art gallery / exceptional interior design / upbeat atmosphere / freindly staff / amazing food!!!! and location location location .... its totally a destination spot, they dont even have signage outside. Its one of those word of mouth restaurants that attracts all types of people and is not geared towards the cheesy masses. The menu is huge and very diverse, priced very well, everything from thai, chinese, japanese, indian, vietnamese, etc.. very romantic yet great for large groups. Sushi pizza and lolly pop chicken are a must!!! the sushi sandwhich is a tongue fantasy (not on the menu, its a special, ask the waiter) ! ! huge selection of appetizers, ive been there a dozen times and i still have not tried all of the appetizers! def make reservations, gets very busy. Pros: everything Cons: non more

Disappointing 9/5/2008

Granted the place looks nice and hip but that's not enough of a reason to go back. We were a party of 12 and all 12 of us had the same issues- cold food that wasn't the least bit authentic. The service was also that of a diner which doesn't relate to the price. Pros: Ambience Cons: Food, Service, Value more

beautiful space, great food 7/28/2008

Ate dinner at Jade with some friends -- the space is beautiful - it was the lobby of an old hotel they renovated... Pros: beautiful space, indoor/outdoor seating, great food more

one of my favorite places to hang out 6/9/2008

i really love this place. the manager is an amazing man. he is friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming. he made terrific suggestions about how to plan for special groups. the food presents a unique twist, and the location in forest hills is perfect for this kind of restaurant. the prices might seem slightly on the high end for maki, but the creations are well worth the extra few dollars. the food is fresh and flavorful. the outdoor seating overlooks the heart of station square. the bar area is also a neat place to unwind...the lighting is slightly dark, which i like on a friday or saturday evening. the dj was very good, and there were plenty of people around to fill a fairly large space. i appreciated the artwork near the restrooms as well. Pros: ambience, friendly staff, location, outdoor seating, artwork, the scene, menu, quality of food, music Cons: the bartender was pretty aloof more

HAD NO IDEA THAT THERE WAS AN ART GALLERY!! 5/13/2008

I live on metropolitan ave and had absolutely no idea that Jade had an art gallery with displays of local artists! I got an email from an artist in williamsburg that was having a show at Jade, I went with a few freinds and had such an amazing experience. We had drinks at the bar with other local artists that came to support the gallery and its just really nice to know that this restaurant supports local unknown artists and gives them an opportunity to display there work! All the work is for sale and they only feature one artist per show, which is great because they can accomodate 15-20 pieces of hung art, the artist can show how diverse he/she is with all that space. The restaurant itself is very artsy and siplisticly chic. Who ever this Pravda Group is, you have my support! and the support of the artist community of queens! more

Great food, ambience,service,etc. 5/7/2008

We recently moved to Forest Hills and were looking for a romantic place to celebrate my husband's birthday. Fortunately we didn't have to look very far. We made a reservation (just in case) for Tuesday at 7pm, but the place was still empty, with a few people sitting outside. The staff was very friendly. The menu is rich. The food we ordered was outstanding, as was the service. Prices are on the medium to expensive side but everything was worth it! We spent a little over $100 for 2 appetizers, 2 main courses and a shared dessert, a small sake and a glass of wine. The music was a bit too loud for us, but I guess it's ok if you are into Asian rythms... Overall, we had a great time and will definitely go back soon!!! more

thumbs up 1/20/2008

I think this restaurant might me under new management. The service has improved 1000% !! The wait staff seems to be much more proffesional and freindly each time I return. The food is great they might have revamped the menu as well, their seem to be more items on the menu than usual. what ever their doing there seems to be working its packed everytime im there! Im excited that this place is down the block from my house, totally agree with the previous post, really cool place totally a diff world when you enter. more

forest hills neede a place like this 1/16/2008

The space is so cool because from the outside you have a typical forest hills gardens ambiance with the cobblestone streets, original street lamp posts and the natural beauty of station square. then as you enter you find yourself in another world with a huge pond in the center of the restaurant w/ floating candles and rose pedals floating under a what appears to be a thai buddha. the bar is huge with dim lighting and flooded with candles, aged copper and original brick. i was on a date with this girl from long island that came to visit me in bayside, she actually recommended this place. from what i was able to gather they have a really breathtaking room in the back that was used for private affairs, the door man was nice enough to let us in and take a few pictures on one of their beds. the music was very chill and inviting, and the sushi was incredible!!! the menu was very large and diverse, i had the jade roll and the aria roll as my entree, and tuna tartar and sushi pizza as an appetizer. my date had mango telapia and garlic shrimp skewers. we had no room for dessert but cant wait to go back and try some. more

skip it 12/15/2007

I've read the reviews, and perhaps this is as good as it will get in forest hills? Maybe I'm spoiled as a Manhattanite (west village)? Anyway, the place is very nicely decorated, it's got a minimalist thing going, fo r the most part, and occasional abstract painting, dim lighting, and large ""pond int he middle with rose pettles and a plain buddha statue. I only had one appaetizer and a drink, so I don't feel like I can adequately assess either. I can, however, say that the service SUCKED. We were int he lounge area at the back. Initially we had a waitress. Some point early in our stay she decided to retreat to the bar. That made for 3 bartenders at a rather small bar. Okay, fine. Problem was even when we'd go to the bar (to order food and drinks for our table) we'd have to stand and wait for an extended period before they would come over to us. The 3rd time, after waiting more than 5 minutes, I started to wave my arms around, and even that didn't work. Our stuff did get to us quickly after that, but it shouldn't be such a strain to place an order. Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: bad service; overpriced more

Great in theory... Alluring atmosphere... Replace the brainless staff with more well-trained employees, and it would be fabulous. 11/4/2007

I was absolutely thrilled to have a restaurant of this kind pop up in my neighborhood. However, unfortunately there have been quite a few set-backs with the service that have tainted my experience with a place that boasts a chic caliber on the outside, but makes you wonder if they hire cheap labor to make up for the price that probably goes toward such seemingly appealing qualities. Pros: Great food, menu, and atmosphere. Cons: Rather unintelligent staff -- can be at risk to those with serious aversions. more

great dining expierience 8/25/2007

Very large and creative menu. Great presentation and quality for reasonable prices. Fresh sushi and amazing curry dishes! Make reservations gets very busy. Pros: ambiance, fresh fish, not having to go into the city for the same dining environment! more

Best Sushi/Thai Cuisine in Forest Hills 8/5/2007

I moved to Forest Hills under a year ago, and I have to say there are few quality restaurant choices with above average food compared to NYC. I have been very impressed with Jade. I make a point of eating there nearly every weekend, and virtually everything I've tried on the menu has been delicious. I typically find most sushi bland, but have not found this to be the case at Jade. I like the atmosphere, lighting and overall mood of the place; not too loud, yet with good energy. If anything, I have difficulty knowing what to order, given the endless variety of dishes offered. Our first experience was with a very attentive waiter who provided excellent service. Since then, we've only had one experience where the kitchen delivered the wrong sushi, but it was not at the fault of the server. And I have to say, I still consider it my favorite restaurant in this borough. Pros: Delicious Food and Extensive Menu, Hip and Relaxing Ambiance, Good Value for the Price more

Jade Eatery & Lounge 8/5/2007

All I can say is after living in Manhatten for most of my life that we finally have a Restaurant in Forest Hills that is not just comperable it is superior. The reason why it is better; is all about the space. Your are in a hip elegant atmoshphere eating the most delicious food you have ever tasted in your life and unlike the city you do not have to listen to the stranger's conversations around you. You have privacy - a luxury that Manhattenites know little or nothing about. Pros: Food, atmospher, location, service - EVERYTHING Cons: I've eaten there 4 times and so far not one thing bad to say more

great atmosphere to impress a date! 7/27/2007

great vibe and friendly wait staff.. took a date there and ate at the bar.. she loved it! the drinks were awesome... and the crab meat ravioli was very good.. i heard people at the bar saying that the sushi was really creative and fresh.. looking forward to returning and trying some. Pros: great atmosphere and food Cons: bar closes too early during the week more

GREAT food and drinks; service needs improvement 7/5/2007

I live very close to Jade, and feel lucky to have a restaurant with incredibly delicious food and great atmosphere nearby. However, they really do need to work on service. Without fail, it always takes the wait staff longer than necessary to bring water, take a meal order, refill drinks, bring the bill, etc. It's a shame because if they had better service I'd say this restaurant was close to perfect. That said, the food is so good that it's worth putting up with the slow service. more
