I must say I'm extremely surprised by all of the negative reviews because I has a wonderful experience here! The staff was all very sweet and helpful. We discussed budget before I tried dresses on and the staff only pulled dresses within my budget (I'm on a tight budget). In fact, she pulled dresses that were under my budget so I could afford to have alterations and a headpiece. I have been on several bridal dress appointments with other brides to be and I can safely say this was by far the best service I have seen. more

Worst Experience 2/5/2012

I went for an appointment yesterday, and as soon as she heard my budget, the appointment was over. She argued with me. I told her lace and A-line, she pulled mermaid and not a single thing with lace on it. After we got back to the dressing room, I saw a dress and asked her if it was out of my budget, and it was, by almost $3,000. She told me I needed to cut back on somethings in my wedding to get that dress. I told her it was not worth having a good dress if I don't have any pictures of it, and she said what's the point of having good pictures of a dress thats second best? I left immediately. I went and bought a dress that there is no comparison for, and it was under my budget by $1000. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! more

Not worth it 8/25/2011

I went here because I wanted a simple Nicole Miller Dress. During the appointment the lady just went through the steps and showed little interest in my appointment. I am guessing because I did not care to spend a lot of money on a dress and gave her a small budget. She rushed me through the appointment I tried on three dresses that were pretty much the same. I wanted to try on more but she said she had nothing else in the style and budget I had given her then she told me she had another appointment and I needed to make up my mind if I wanted the dress or not. I bought one dress because it did look really good on me and was the dress I originally wanted when I went into the shop. I have grown to dislike it because it was such an unpleasant experience. more

I would recommend to ANYONE! 7/16/2011

I just happened to fall into this place just to look with my Aunt and cousins running some errands. I did not have an appointment and they happened to be able to fit me in. The staff was EXTREMELY accommodating and every single one of them was helpful! The woman who aided me picked up very quickly on my style and what I wanted, I believe her name is Dalhia or something. She said she had been doing this for 17 years. She stayed within my price range and steered me clear of dresses that I could fall in love with but not afford . She never pushed me to buy, and stood back when it was time for me to decide. I felt like ""Pretty Woman"", minus the whole hooker thing. They attended to me like a princess. I could see though how if you did not want that ""attending"" how it would seem like they were hovering. But, I felt like that is what a bridal assistant should do is be attentive. In wedding dress experience, you get what you pay for. Dress AND service. I feel as if I got both. I did not have my mother there and was upset that I found THE DRESS without her. But she was very understanding and even helped the situation with some champagne! And no, I just had one glass, I did not purchase my dress drunk. I don't know what all these posts are talking about, I had an EXTREMELY good experience and found my dress in just 4 dresses. I was shocked when getting on here and reading these reviews. I'm starting to wonder though if the people who did not have a good experience just didn't have the money for what they want. I guess everyone likes what they like, but I would say DON'T go here if you DON'T want to be waited on hand and foot. I would recommend this place to anyone! more

I should have looked at reviews before I made a HUGE mistake 6/11/2011

I ordered my bridesmaid dress through JJ Kelly. My sister is getting married in just a few weeks, and my dress was ordered 5 months ago. I have called them a few times to check on the status of the dress, and to get a definitive arrival date. I have explained to them SEVERAL times that I live in Alaska, and so I need the dress as fast as possible, because it has to be shipped to me for alterations before the wedding. Every time I spoke with someone, I was promised that my dress would be delivered on June 1. I was a little surprised that I did not recieve a call from them on the 1st telling me that my dress was in, so I could have my sister pick it up, and put it in the mail for me. I gave them a call the next day to see what was going on. I was told that my dress would be in ""within a few days."" While it was a bit inconvenient, I didn't worry too much and figured it would be in soon. It is now nearly 2 weeks later and I have been told that it could take ANOTHER 2 weeks before my dress will arrive there. This is BEYOND unacceptable. I paid extra money so the dress would be in by June 1, and now I have to sit here and wait while they take their sweet time. After reading reviews on here, I should have just bought a plane ticket to Seattle and bought my dress there. It would have been significantly more expensive, but at least I'd have my dress. *Update- the dress finally came in today ( 5 days after it was ""overnighted"") The lady at the desk was BEYOND rude to my sister, and refused to take ANYTHING off of the price of the dress. This place is RUDE, unprofessional and only care about the bottom line: their pockets. more

Must Read!! 3/27/2011

Absolutely appalled at the behavior of the bridal consultants at this boutique! Upon my arrival at this location I was told that they would be leaving at 6 promptly, even if I was not finished deciding on my purchase. While I was in the dressing room I was told that ""if this dress doesn't fit you will have to lay off the sweets"", I was in shock and of course could not think of what I should say. Not that it should matter if I was a bigger person or not, but I was trying on and fitting into size 8 dresses! In returning to the dressing room after showing the dress to my family, the consultant told me she wanted to go home. After this shock my family and I were rushed out of the boutique because it was 6 and time to leave. Don't waste your time going to this bridal boutique. Gladly I did purchase my gown, a Kenneth Pool, from Meg Guess and would recommend them to everyone!! more

I had a VERY positive experience here!!! 2/5/2011

I was actually there today. I was greeted by a very unfriendly older woman with dark hair and bangs. She said Jessica would be helping me today. Jessica was great! She was young and stylish. She was eager to help me stay within my price range. She never pushed me onto more expensive dresses. She got excited with me and my bridesmaids when I tried on each dress. Not one moment was she rude or snobby. I went in with the intention to try on Nicole Miller dresses and then buy one online. The price of the NM dress I found was reasonable. I bought it right then and there. I was not pressured to have it altered there and I took it home with me. I had a blast and so did my bridesmaids! I would recommend JJ Kelly to anyone, but I would suggest you ask for Jessica. The other ladies seemed very rude and grumpy. A nice man, I think his name was Patrick, helped Jessica check me out and he carried my dress to the car through the sleet and snow in his suit and dress shoes! I was wearing snow boots. Now THAT'S service! He was extremely personable as well. The store is outdated, but the merchandise is not. I suggest that you go check it out if you want to find the dress of your dreams. Happy shopping! more

BEWARE!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!! 12/7/2010

I am glad to see I am not the only one who had an awful experience with this dress store. The staff is rude... I even had Deliah who I've noticed has been mentioned in sveral of the reviews... She was not the problem, it was the two owners who lurk in her shadows that cause all the grief. Unfortunately I ordered a dress form this store, but when I went to pick it up they didn't even have it in a bag. I was then told I could purchase a bag for $10. I was in shock! Where was the bag or shall I say box it was shipped to the store in????? more

Thank you J.J. Kelly's! 11/17/2010

I just want to thank everyone at J.J. Kelly's for everything you have done over the past year! I always felt so welcome every time I came into the store. You all took such great care of me!! Thank you all for your thoughtfulness and for making my wedding planning such a joyful experience!! more

Excellent Experience 11/12/2010

After reading the unfavorable reviews, I have to say these seem fabricated or over exaggerated. My wife purchased her gorgeous wedding gown, veil, bridesmaids, invitations and tuxedos. All purchases were handled with professionalism and class. Our special orders came in on time and their expert seamstresses took care of my bride with all her concerns. Our wedding day was perfect and my bride looked fabulous. more

Do Not go Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11/9/2010

Don't be fooled by the website ladies!!!!!!! it seems like a high end boutique from the dress selection listed on the website but when you go into the store you realize you've been fooled. First of all it's in a shopping center next to a sporting goods store on one side and some place called Jo Jo's cafe on the next. That just screams High-end doesn't it??? The store is carpeted with a hideous blue color throughout and the walls are even painted with a similar blue color... Very out-dated. The selection of bridesmaid dreses and cocktail dresses are sparse and cheesy. Sort of reminds you of a JC Penny department store. The mother daughter duo who own the store are a nightmare. They are old and try to give you input on how to make your wedding complete, but it's not hard to see or tell that you would never want to take any advice from them on how to make your wedding any better. Trust me! more

Take it from me.. 4/27/2009

Though I worked in a bridal shop, I went to check out jj kellys with a friend whom was getting married. I told her she didnt have to find her perfect dress at my shop bc I know our shop didnt have something for everyone. My first impression of jj kellys was that it was very cold; the atmosphere and sales people. You practically cant look at the dresses without a salesperson nearby. Though it is or should be a rule that a bride should never have to try a wedding dress on without assistance, jj kellys helps you so you dont see the name of the dress designer. Reason being is, if you hate their service and decide to not do business with them, you will never know who made the dress you loved. Some people are willing to sacrifice the dress for quality customer service and will find another dress comparable to the one at jj kellys rather than deal with them. At the time my friend and I went in, pictures were not allowed. Basically, you have to purchase the dress to take the picture. And that means, if your parents live out of state and you love the dress, they will have to come all that way for you to try it on. The alterations are definitely overpriced because of the overhead they have---the seamstresses they have working in the backroom. The seamstresses have to get paid, you know! So, its cheaper for you to just go to an individual seamstress to have your dress altered bc jj kellys is making money off your alterations, too, on top of the heavy markup on your designer dress. Definitely shop around before paying such a heavy price financially and emotionally with jj kellys. Some people get along with them and love their service while others hate them and have the worst experience ever with them. But the same goes for the shop I worked for and every shop out there. Also, many customers find that people whom work in bridal shops are rude, snobby, snooty...etc. It can be true, particularly with the people whom have worked the bridal industry for a long time. Some sales assocs judge you by your appearance, the car you pulled up in, the people you are with, the price range you are looking for. And this is very unfortunate and belittling to customers. JJ Kellys works on a commission basis, possibly with an hrly wage, not sure, but take that into consideration when shopping with them. Being on commission can make a sales person pounce on you like a vulture bc that's how they get their paycheck. If you go in with a low budget, you may be told outright you are in the wrong store or you will try on a dress way out of your price range and you will leave with a broken heart. Hope this helps. Pros: Designer dresses Cons: poor customer service and overpriced mdse more

HORRIBLE!! AVOID!! 9/15/2008

I was not greeted when i walked through the door. The staff was rude and stuck up and refused to help. The consultants are ill experienced and the owners are just as much so...so what can you expect? Completely unprofessional!!! Lazy owners, Lazy consultants!! Poor choice in dresses, store was not tidy and not welcoming...I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANY BRIDE WANTING A PLEASANT BRIDAL EXPERIENCE!! STAY AWAY Pros: found nothing good about this store Cons: where do i start??? more
