I read the one very positive review that was posted before my trip to Orange County and so I was eager to try the place out. I stopped by on Sunday afternoon, but was dissappointed that they were closed (which was no big deal because it seems like a lot of sushi places are closed on Sunday). However, I did pick up a menu that was hanging on the window and everything looked really good, with a nice assortment of specialty rolls. I went back on Monday night and was ready to have a great meal, but was majorly dissappointed by two of the three rolls that I received. One roll with baked scallops was pretty gross, with way too much sauce and tiny scallops poured over the top of it. The other roll was a tempura roll with spicy tuna and crab on the inside and it was almost inedible because the batter was not fully cooked, there was tons of sauce all over it and the peices were at least twice the size of a normal roll. I ate one piece and then asked for a box to take the rest with me (just to be nice). The box went in the dumpster at the hotel. I hate writing bad comments, but there is something fishy (no pun intended) about a sushi restaurant that put way too much sauce on what is supposed to be really high-quality fish. The people that worked there seemed to be nice and the place was clean and nicely decorated, but the food was a major dissappointment. I love sushi and look forward to having it whenever I come to Orange County for business. I went to another sushi restaurant in Fountain Valley a few days later (Kokoro) and it was great, so my taste buds seem to still be working.
Pros: Nicely decorated, prompt service, good-looking menu
Cons: Below average sushi and way too much sauce on some of the rolls
