One Word: OVERRATED 10/18/2002

It seems as though everytime I go to Fabric, aka Long Street Live. The bartenders, management are all very pompus and arrogant. I attended the bar last night and one of the bar tenders ran up my tab 30 bucks for his own benefit. When I complained to the management, they were very pretentious, conceited, and hard to talk to... If looking for a cool night club in columbus, try to avoid Fabric/Long Street Live. There are so many other bars that deserve business. If it were in my power, I would love to see it go out of business. Cons: service, service, service more

this is the best columbus has to offer? 6/5/2002

i've recently moved down here from cleveland and have been hearing all kinds of hype about fabric, that it's so "sophisticated for our major league city" as city search describes it. if this is the best columbus has to offer, then that is truly sad. before you even get in the door, you're out $13 between parking and admission, which is ridiculous. it was just a room, nothing more, nothing less. the clubs in cleveland at least put some time and money into decorating, this place was nothing. the music, whatever. i have most of what they played here at home. the dj's were average at best. the platforms that ppl were dancing on were rickety and falling apart and there was absolutely no dress code. if i'm gonna pay $10 to get in somewhere, i shouldn't be seeing ppl in jeans, shorts, and sneakers. i'll never go back. Cons: cover charge, music, decor more

Editorial
  • In Short
This hot spot aspires to be the most posh and metropolitan of the new breed, complete with an unmarked entrance, velvet ropes and a hipness unprecedented here in Cowtown. Cartoonish, gum-snapping bouncers in sport jackets guard the door. If you are over 21 and pass the dress code, they will wave you through; if you can squeeze past their pectorals. A huge chandelier lights the floor in warm ambient white light. The bar gets packed, and some nights you can step outside to a patio and alternate sound system.
