Editorial review from Citysearch 10/16/2012

Expect to pay a lot. $100 per person to get in. Don't even get me started how fast the bill racks up in there. BUT, it's a great park to go to to have fun, especially with your family. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 6/18/2012

Over hyped in my honest opinion. Brought my niece and nephew here to have fun and they had a good time because they were squealing to not go home when we had to. The rides aren't bad and of course everything costs three times as much, lines can be an issue, pretty much just like any other amusement park, just slap a different label on it. more

Great place to be a kid again 5/2/2012

It had been 38 years since I had last visited Disneyland. I'm sorry that I waited so long. In its timeless fashion, Disney keeps delivering. I had fun just being a kid again. The rides were great, the food was yummy and truly the best fireworks show I've ever seen. Don't wait to go. It's worth the trip. more

Lovely Place 12/13/2010

I have been visiting Disneyland since I was a kid. This is a fun place to go where you get to see all the cartoon characters live before you. My four year daughter, Angel also enjoys visiting Disneyland the way I do. She loves Alice in Wonderland, Chip- n- dale Tree house. My favorites are Davy Crockett?s Explorer Canoes, Disneyland Mono rails, etc. In fact we try to visit this place at least once a month. more

How about this for the kids? 2/18/2010

If you want to do something very special for the kids, how about taking them to see a live musical show of the Lion King. They will be in OC from 26 May - 13 June. It is a spectacular event where you can feel like part of the jungle. It is at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. And they have tickets going at a really good price from $70 and up. You should visit the world-wide-web at lionkingocpac. They have the exclusive orchestra seating available there. I think this event is not only for the kids, the parents are sure to enjoy as well. Pros: The whole family can enjoy. Cons: The tickets are running out fast. more

One of all-time favorite places! 2/12/2010

Even though it is super expensive, there is not much better place than Disneyland. Every year I get the annual pass for me and my daughter (the one without blackout dates trust me is the way to go) and I really do get my money's worth by the end of the year. There are so many great rides that we never get tired of no matter how many times we have been on them! Peter Pan, Pirates....and the parade and water and fireworks show are just magical. I love coming after work just for a few hours when we think, what should we do? Lets go to Disneyland!!!! And when you have a annual pass, you don't have to worry about paying to get in or for parking! The best! Pros: The rides, the fun, the shows Cons: The price and the crowds more

Can I Please Go, Now? 1/15/2010

Whenever anybody visits LA for the first time, their first demand is ?I wanna go to Disneylaaaaaaand?. Well, I?ve lived here my entire life and I catch myself constantly thinking, ?I wish I was at Disneyland right now playing with Tinkerbell and Goofey.? Disneyland is truly one of the few places that will instantly smack a smile on my face whenever I think about it, and for that it has to make my list. more

Family Fun, Manages to Bring out the Magic in People of ALL AGES 3/10/2009

I grew up in Southern California, until moving when I was 12 nearly 5 years ago. I loved Disneyland and I went at least once a month, if not more. I think back now to the nights when I would watch the fireworks shows with my friends from New Orleans Square, near the ferry for Tom Sawyer's Island. When I think about how much time I spent and enjoyed at this magical wonderland, I start to tear up. It is a beautiful experience for families of all ages. I long to go back now so often. Ever since I was 7 or so, I knew I wanted t work at Disneyland. The place is filled with a magic and a beauty that can only be brought out through a long day of fun. Rides I recommend highly are Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Star Tours, It's a Small World Boat Tour, Jungle Cruise, the Haunted Mansion, and the Matterhorn, basically all the big names in the park. For food, I would recommend eating breakfast beforehand if you are arriving at the park before opening, the food selection in Downtown Disney in the morning is a bit limited. For Lunch, I recommend, if you are visiting with children, the Buzz Lightyear Cafe in Tomorrowland. If not, there are some nice exotic restaurants in Adventureland, and a nice Cafe/Grille in New Orleans Square. For Dinner, I would recommend leaving around 5-5:30-ish to beat the dinner rush in Downtown Disney; definitely get the hand stamp for returning guests, but I'll get to that. Try and return to the park between 7 and 8:30, to get a decent spot for the Phantasmic Light and Water show in the Rivers of America, by New Orleans Square. After Phantasmic wraps up, sit tight and watch a fantastic fireworks show (this is actually a spot that is only bested by the crowded Main Street USA venue). After that I recommend going on either the Matterhorn or Splash Mountain, because they are both indoor and outdoor rides, and the night atmosphere only adds to the experience. Enjoy your trip to Dinselyand, and I hope this Review only enhances your experiences. Have Fun! Pros: Rides and Entertainement Abound Cons: Food Options are somewhat limited by campy themed restaurants... more

I mean, it is Disneyland 7/31/2008

It's Disneyland, people. Do you really need to read a review to know that it's one of the most magical places you'll ever go. Of course it's expensive, and there are people, but that doesn't change the fact that the instant you walk through the gate, you can't help but smile. It'll turn the most grievous frown upside down. That's what the place does, and it only gets better with age. Each time I come back I still love it, and I feel like that doesn't change. So if you're wondering whether you should go or not...GO! more

Pure Disney magic! 6/24/2008

Disneyland is a quintessential experience for everyone, not just visitors to SoCal. It doesn?t matter how old you are, walking down Main Street U.S.A. and seeing all the candy or the moment you get on the carousel or Dumbo the Flying elephant, you?ll feel like a kid again. Pirates of the Caribbean is especially fun to ride if you haven?t since the movies have come out. First-time visitors to Disneyland who have already been to Disney World will want to try the Alpine bobsled roller coaster-like adventure and the Indiana Jones ride, since those attractions aren?t at the sister park in Florida. Star Wars fans of all ages will want to check out for at least a little bit the Jedi training camp for the little kids; it?s absolutely adorable. Be sure to stay till the fireworks show. I don?t want to give the plot away, but it?s definitely one of the best I?ve ever seen. Pros: rides, fireworks, shopping, good for young kids Cons: long lines, expensive more

Fun and Open 12/31/2007

I just wanted to say even in my 30s I still find it enjoyable and fun to visit! Pros: Good food, Good fun, it's all good! Cons: Admission, merchandise, food/drinks pricey. But worth it more

The original and still the best 11/15/2007

Even though the Magic Kingdom at Disneyworld in Orlando, FL is bigger, there's just something special about the original Disneyland park. You just feel the sense of history and mystique in this place. It has evolved and changed throughout the years, there are still bits of the old park found in Fantasyland and Frontierland. My favorite E-Ticket rides are Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. I always make it a point to visit the park once a year. Pros: Simply put, it's Disneyland Cons: I don't know if Walt's dream was to make a family bankrupt to enjoy his park more

The theme park mecca 10/30/2007

As a native Angeleno, I think of Disneyland as my backyard. The fact that I have to pay over $120 for two people just to get into the park stuns me silent. Even the Southern California resident ""discount"" is not really a worthwile discount. Even worse than the cost are the crowds. These days, you can barely walk around without bumping into some...and the lines for rides...ridiculous. Of course...you could always shell out even MORE money to join the ""Fast Pass"" crowd and make an APPOINTMENT to ride a ride. It's all so different from the Disneyland of my childhood that it just makes me sad going there. I bid a fond farewell to the ""E"" ticket rides of yesteryear. Pros: It's Disneyland, for God's sake Cons: It's Disneyland, for God's sake more

The Most Expensive Place On Earth 10/30/2007

It's Disneyland so people are still going to flock there but I was shocked to have to pay $66 a head last week to get in. I can't imagine how much a family with kids spends here in a single day - wow! more

LOVE 10/1/2007

As if Disneyland really needs another review! Oh well! Disneyland is truly one of my favorite places because it really makes you feel young at heart?no matter what your age. There really is no other place on Earth that can make me feel three years old again while in a boat ?sailing? through taverns of singing skeletons in Pirates of the Caribbean or while floating in a buggy amongst friendly ghosts dancing throughout the Haunted Mansion. There isn?t a single ride that I wouldn?t recommend. Alice & Wonderland still captures my heart; the Matterhorn still tickles my tummy; Space Mountain Still keeps me guessing about the next black hole of a turn; and Indiana Jones still has me howling in laughter every time I ride. I find myself to be a 22 year-old child climbing up in Tarzan?s tree-house (although my leg muscles act my adult age) wishing I could live there; and nearly crashing into people passing by, I still admire the castle wishing I could wear my Princess dress and stay forever. But if you want to be a grown-up and you must have your fix of adrenaline, you can just cross the way to California Adventure and enjoy some of the big kid?s rides like California Screamin? and the Tower or Terror (which for me, wasn?t really scary). California Adventure is also the place to get your alcoholic beverage (or so I hear?I?m still too busy being a kid at Disneyland to care about the booze). Enjoy a glass of vino at one of the many restaurants in Downtown Disney while enjoying live music on the walks or maybe at the House of Blues, visit Build-A-Bear and build memories there with someone you love or check out the other shops for cute apparel and trinkets. Disney is truly a place that has something for everybody. And don't you say it's not for you. No one's too cool for Disney! Pros: Everything from ice cream and churros to fireworks and pixie dust! Cons: Seriously? Nothing. more

the happiest place on earth 2/20/2007

I haven't been to this place in 5 years, and I thought it would be pretty lame going back as a young adult, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I rode the new Space Mountain (with the Red Hot Chili Peppers music), and though I thought it was a bit cheesy and video game -esque at first, it turned out to be pretty cool. Another (relatively) new attraction was the Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blaster ride, which was pretty slow, but a fun, interactive ride for kids. And I ate the most delicious clam chowder bread bowl right next to the Pirates of the Carribean ride in the New Orleans area. Everyone in my family, from my grandma to my 11 year old cousin, enjoyed their stay at Disneyland. more

Go Pirates! 11/14/2006

Having come here since I was a baby, my childhood (and a fair share of my adulthood) have been filled with memories of Disneyland. It was a real shame this past Spring that they close Pirates, but once they opened it again, I felt the improvements were worth the wait! I can't remember the last time I've paid to get in as my girlfriend used to work for the company and now I do, but I think the admission price is fair. To be honest, the fact that I can get in for free has allowed me to come here far more often than I would normally be able to, but it has also allowed me to really explore the park more. I still love the classics such as Thunder Mountain Railroad, as well as newer rides such as Toontown. I've always had a great time here and can see taking my kids here someday. Pros: it's disneyland!! more

great place! 9/5/2006

I would recommend staying in Anaheim easy access to the ocean and nearby metropolitan areas!! more

Weee 8/24/2006

Forget your anti-capitalist sentiments for a day and visit this American treasure. Ticket prices are steep, but then again, it's just money, right? If you can accept this premise, then drop everything (but bring your wallet) and ride lots of rides and see lots of shows and smiles lots of times. more
