Nice Park 4/2/2006

The playground here is very nice. You can tell the area is well maintained. There's not a lot "junk" around. It's great for little ones and big ones too. The equipment is enough to satisfy all ages. There are also places for parents to sit and watch their children as well as have a picnic lunch. It is close to a parking area and a road, however, so you have to be diligent when watching little ones, especially. However, there is enough to keep children occupied, I doubt many would venture other places. more

Nice Zoo 3/28/2006

Dickerson Park Zoo is a smaller zoo. However, the tickets are priced well and they are constantly having special things for children and families. There is a beautiful little park outside the zoo. It is free, of course. I bring my kids there often, because it is very clean and well kept. This is definitely a fun place to bring the family. more

Very nice mostly for younger children 10/19/2005

This zoo is very clean and small. The employees are so helpful and nice. Great price for a family pass $60. And thats for a year! Too go as many times as you want. When I went, there were no tigers or elephants, but there were giraffes and you could feed them. My 7 y/o loves this place. Not as fancy as some of your more big town zoos, but still a nice little distration from monotony. more

Great zoo, has made big improvements 9/14/2005

This is a great zoo and they have a a variety of exhibits and different types of animals here. For a smaller town zoo, it's a great gem that you must visit especially if you have children. There is a small admission fee but parking is free and fairly abundant. There is also a playground and park facilities right next to the Zoo so you can have a picnic lunch if you want. Don't miss the monkey island which is probably the most notable attraction at the Zoo. more

Small Zoo 7/16/2005

If you need to entertain the kids for a couple hours, this is a great choice. Dickerson's Zoo is a small zoo, but there are many different animals to see, they even boost a petting zoo, for all the animal friendly people out there. They also offer a wide range of different food and snacks on site. more

Wonderful zoo 6/23/2005

This zoo has been in Springfield for over 30 years. In that period of time, it has been good to see the community support and the improvements and beautifying of the zoo. They have a good selection of animals in a lovely setting and seem to have gained nationawide attention in some of the programs that they have there and their care of the animals. more

Best small town zoo ever! 6/22/2005

Dickerson Park Zoo has got to be the best zoo I have ever been to in a smaller town! It has a lot of the same features as the big city zoos, but it is not so huge that you feel lost in it. They keep this zoo nice and they always take good care of the exhibits and the animals. It is a wonderful place for families to go together. You can make a nice afternoon outing with this zoo! more
