Editorial review from Citysearch 2/15/2013

The apartment units, amenities and grounds are very lovely (except for the so called movie rental collection). That's about it. After the new management took over this place is terrible. I think they may be taking assistance programs now because all types of people live here now, with no class, which makes me feel unsafe now. Where's the luxury in that? The concierge programs that they offered when I moved in are basically non-existent, I called to get several things arranged on different occasions and all the work that the agent did was go on Google and look up locations closest to the complex! Wow, what a ""concierge"" service! The gate is ALWAYS open, so much for a gated community. This used to be managed by Riverstone Properties but changed to Alliance in April 2012. Most people say if you follow rules at apartment complexes you shouldn't have any trouble. Well, not the case here. Under the old management I never had to go to the office, now I go at least once a month because something is ALWAYS incorrect or bogus charges to the wrong person. The new management and staff are very UNPROFESSIONAL and apparently inexperienced or you can tell that position was given to them. When you call, their phones are always still forwarded to the answering service and you could have just walked out of the office or just gotten off the phone with an agent and they are all sitting around talking. When speaking with the manager, she provides no solution to whatever problem you may have, it's basically all just ""up to you"". Once I called to make a complaint and the agent, Katie told me that I shouldn't worry about that tenant because they were about to get kicked out anyway and went into detail about that tenant's situation (there's that UNPROFESIONALISM). That is personal information that I do not believe I should have heard and she has done this on several occasions. After the takeover they started charging tenants to make payments online (which was free before) and restricted the use of money orders (which I don't use) but that month they had the nerve to charge people late fees when they had cut of the main two common source of payment. In the last couple of months I have seen so many good people move out of here. According to Katie, it's because they probably couldn't make payment but I'm starting to realize that a majority of it is because of the way they conduct business. Oh, and you also have to replace your own air filter, you have to go collect it from the office though. How ridiculous is that?! When I asked about that new implemented policy they said because some people didn't want management or staff in their unit. Excuse me but that is a CON in apartment living, people having access to your unit when you are not there. I don't know about you but that is a way to check and make sure that people are abiding by the rules and need visits like that. The parking is also strategically arranged so that you may want to rent a covered spot or garage. Don't believe me?... Go look at building six. I used to love coming home here away from the hustle and bustle of Austin and being able to walk my dog around the complex in the wee hours of the night but not anymore. The only luxury you will be paying for here is the wording in the sign. You may have a nice unit but you will not be safe nor have the peace of mind that you thought you moved here for. \r \r more

Don't move here...there are better places close by 10/4/2011

Thank you cbrook11. I am finally happy someone wrote about this place that speaks the truth. I live here and only been here for a little while. A/C went out during the hottest (record breaking) summers. This happen weeks after I moved in. I am very uncomfortable with the place. My daughter lives by me and I asked if I can move in with her because the complex is horrible. The individuals at the front office have the worst attitude. I've never experienced such horrible attitudes. I've lived in apartments off an on for 20 years because I travel a lot and they are very good about getting you signed up, not good about keeping you. I overheard one of the head managers talk horrible in front of me about a tenet. I'm not happy here and i have been told in the past that i'm very easy to get along with. Lots of bugs and cheaply made. My cabinet literally fell apart when i put a bowl on it. more

Fun in the Sun 7/1/2011

This property is nice I have good neighbors my a/c just went out yesterday and maintenance was there in minutes surprised me for sure didn't think they would be out so fast. The maintenance guys are polite and friendly they keep the pool looking nice grills look good to me I'm no maintenance professional but I have been able to cook my burgers if something does happen I am sure the people that live around here tend to have something to do with it. Although I do wish they would ban alcohol from the pool. Other than that cant complain wife and kids are happy about where they live so I am happy. more

2 previous people posting have to be crazy or angry cause they aren't treated like queen of England haha been here 2 1/2 years and love it maintenance always comes over does just about whatever I need done office staff is nice and helpful what more u can you ask for. As for the grills every time I use them they work heck I even saw the supervisor cleaning those suckers good after 5pm ...how many supervisors are going to stay after hours so there property looks nice. One thing is for sure the 2 people who posted before me are probably angry that they didn't get treated like royalty ....there are rules you know. Over all a great place to live and I plan on staying longer more

The Worst Management Ever - 2011 6/14/2011

Don't even consider moving into these apartments. The only thing the management is interested in, is leasing apartments. Any problem or concerns the residents have are ignored and never taken seriously! For example the gas grills at the pool have been broken for over 5 months and when brought to management attention the resident was told they would be fixed next year and that is OVER 7 months away. So if the residents want to grill food they have to go to a park or risk getting second degree burns when using the broken apartment grills. You are not allowed to use your own grill anywhere on the apartment complex grounds. The pool rules state no alcohol or glass bottles in the pool area because of the family enviroment. But when the management observes people getting drunk, drinking alcohol in bottles at the pool area, with lots of kids swimming in the pool, they run away and dont deal with the situation. So the resident has to gather their kids up and leave the pool area and let the drunk idiots have the pool to themselves. This happens on a regular basis, which ends up in broken glass in the pool around the pool, and then the pool gets closed for all residents for days till they get their lazy asses up to clean things up. Everyday at the pool you can observe kids dragging the pool chairs into the pool and using them to stand on and jump off of. This leaves all the pool furniture broken, but if brought to management attention, they won't make the kids parents do anything to stop this from happening. When asked to replace this fruniture you get the usual response, ""maybe next year"". There are also no animals allowed at the pool either, but on several occasions there are dogs swimming in the pool and again the management will do nothing but tell the complaining resident that it is against the rules and then they hide in their office till the complaining resident leaves. On the new resident tour they point at the grills, they walk you around the pool and paint this picture of how nice things are just to lease an apartment and get your money, after that you are on your own, good luck! Another selling point is the security gates out front of the property. These gates are broken at least three days every week, and the exit gate is on purpose left open several hours every day. This leads to apartment break-ins on a regular basis, garage breakins and car loads of non residents flooding to the pool with cases of bottled beer to have their parties in front of the paying residents. The tour also takes you on areas of the complex where they use the sprinkler system, but not to the areas where they are not watering and just letting the grass die and turn to dirt! You are also told there is a resident Police Officer in the complex, but when you approach him with a problem he tells you the truth. That they don't give him a rent break and that he just happens to live in the complex, and then he tells you to call the Police yourself. A lot of good that does. When the Police do show up they inform you that the apartment complex is private property and there is nothing they can do to inforce the apartment management rules. The only thing the residents can count on is a $50 increase in rent every year and a drastic decrease in the complex's beauty and a drastic decrease in the features that bring the paying residents comfort and peace of mind for them and their kids! I would not even consider looking at this complex, much less consider moving here. There are way nicer Apt complexes in the area like Las Brisas Apts, and Tera Vista Apts. IF YOU READ THIS AND MOVE IN, YOU HAVE ONLY YOURSELF TO BLAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

they lied to me. 2/24/2011

Move to Round Rock and was taken away with the pool at City North. Little did I know that they limited you to two guest at a time. I couldnt even bring my entire family over to the bbq area because they were policing everyone and asking which apt they lived in. they even told a 10 yr old little girl whos friend lived here but was in the bathroom that she couldnt stay inside the gate without her friend and made her get out of the pool. they also told us our unit was new and never lived in but the maintenance people corrected that. Dont like it here. Cant wait to move!!!! more
