Strike Out!! 6/2/2011

Went here based on a co-workers recommendations. Should have known to turn around once we entered the empty parking lot (on a bustling Sat night I might add!) We entered into a dimly lit restaurant barely filled. I ordered the broiled platter, and was put off by the food presentation, food was thrown on the plate like the cook just didn't care anymore. The food not only didn't look good, but tasted rubbery and subpar. Although the service was great (hard not to be when you only have 2 tables to wait on), we definitely won't be back. more

Solid Seafood; Great Fish Stew; Pedestrian sides and hushpuppies 10/1/2007

This is a nice, unassuming restaurant on ""Restaurant Row"" on the north side of Myrtle Beach. We showed up around 8:45 PM on an off-season Monday night, so the place was shutting down. Nonetheless, the greeters & servers were friendly, helpful, and didn't rush us. I had grilled sea scallops, which were fantastic, and a crab cake, which looked like it was straight from the freezer, but was a pleasant surprise as it was moist, tangy and chock full o crab! My wife had the frilled salmon special, which was a tad bland. With the entrees came a small cup of fish stew, a thick tomato-based stew which was a highlight -- next time, we'll both be ordering that on its own. Also there was a standard iceberg salad & baked potato. Finally, they served a bread basket with divine cinnamon buns, and given the build-up (touted as the best I would ever have), thick and disappointing hush puppies. So the bottom line: A nice, solid, friendly restaurant with some ups and some downs. We'll go back! Pros: Fish stew! Scallops! Cinnamon Buns! Cons: Bland hush puppies. more
