Carmens and there Crazy Mean Ole Lady!!! 1/14/2008

I have been going to Carmens since I was a kid and me and my in-law's and my family always go there!!! Love there Taquito's and Enchiladas!!! Good food, good prices!! The only thing that is super FUNNY, is the old lady, who I also believe is the owner, tells you from the door as soon as you get in ""Sit there!"" as she points to a table from afar!!! She's bossy, but in a cute old lady kinda way!! Pros: Good food at great prices!! Cons: Parking is very LIMITED!!! more

Best Mexican Around 9/1/2004

I moved from Southern California to Pennsylvania 12 years ago, and everytime my family and I go back to California to visit family and friends, we always have to go to Carmen's to eat at least one meal. They have the best Mexican food in the Las Angeles area and have something for everybody. Living in PA we just dont have restraunts like this anymore and we truly miss Carmens. I definately recommend this restaurant to all mexican lovers out there. Pros: inexpensive, quality food, rarely a long wait more

Local flavor served here 11/24/2002

Carmen's is a true local Azusa favorite. It's not fancy, it's very casual and inexpensive; my kids like it , and they never agree on anything. The food is pretty fundamental - tacos, tamales, etc. The menu is pretty short, nothing elaborate.... Give it a try when you don't feel like cooking on a weekend. I'm told the lunches are worthwhile (by my teenager, for whatever that's worth)... One thing to watch for is the lady who always seems to be waiting tables there (I think she's the owner). She is very hurried and impatient, almost comically so. Don't take it personally, it's part of the ambiance of this little charmer.... more

Not all that bad... 6/24/2002

...All right, maybe it is. The atmosphere is kind of like home, and if you go there often enough, they treat you like family. The food is really cheap, which is a plus. However, the food is definitely home made...right out of a can. But if you can tolerate the lackluster cuisine, and your budget is so tight that youre sick and tired of Taco Bell, then go here. One really good thingits great for kids and large groups. Pros: Cheap Food, Good for kids, Take Out Cons: Limited Parking, Mediocre Food more
