Exotic Butterflies Everywhere! 3/4/2009

The large enclosures are filled with free-flying butterflies and fantastic hummingbirds. The staff is overly willing to answer questions. If you like insects it is a must see. They have some piano key butterfly morphs that developed on premisis and even some hermaphroditic piano keys with bilateraly different colored wings. They also feature some lorikeets and a nice aviary with various finches, bee eaters, and weavers. They have a great bug museum with a beautiful sampling of the world's insects as well as a live insectarium containing some spiders. In the gift shop they sell everything from keepsakes and books to live larva so you can hatch your own butterfly or live plants to create a butterfly garden. If you take your time, it may take 4+ hours to see everything. Great for the whole family. more

A wonderful place to visit. 3/22/2006

We love going to Butterfly World. When my daughter was younger she called it fairy world. She thought all the butterflies fluttering around were magical. It does have a magical feel for both young and old. There are thousands of butterflies flying around you. The gardens are stunning. This is one of the few attractions were you can go and have an relaxed, slow paced, stress-free day. There is no hurry. You can simply wander through and enjoy all the beautiful butterflies, hummingbirds, tropical birds, and floral gardens. more

so relaxing 10/7/2005

What a great place. It's so very peaceful. There's lots of flowers and bushes that the butterflies are attracted to. Hundreds of butterflies flying all around you. They actually land on you too. They have some benches scattered about so you could sit and relax and watch all the different types. The employees are really informed and gave lots of information about the different species. They had some rooms to walk through that had butterflies from around the world pinned to the boards. Even those were pretty. The price wasn't to bad. It's attached to a nice park that you can stay and play at before the ride home. more

Butterflies Galore 8/18/2005

This is the one place in South Florida where you will almost enjoy the heat and humidity. Surrounded by butterflies and exotic birds, explore the gardens at your leisure. With this rare, close-up opportunity view of so many beautiful winged creatures, the variety of colors and designs will amaze and astound you. more

Relaxing place to take the kids 8/15/2005

I enjoy taking my child here because of the way a kid's face lights up when they see the wildlife zooming around Butterfly world. From butterflies to hummingbirds, this is an enjoyable little park situated in a much larger park. Yes, it's pricey to get in here. But I like that if only because it deters big crowds and noise. Good luck escaping the gift shop if you're with a small child, though! more

A good place to take the children 8/15/2005

Butterfly World has one of the largest collections of Butterflies in South Florida. There is breeding laboratory where new species can be created. There is a two story aviary where butterflies fly free. It is a paradise for those photographing butterflies. Hummingbirds fly free in the Secret Gardens. There a very large shop where all sorts of butterfly items can be purchased. You can even purchase butterfly cocoons and mounted butterflies. There is very nice snack bar and picnic table. more

Pricey but Peaceful 7/20/2005

While the cost to get in at Butterfly World is enough to make your wings wilt, it is a worthwhile stop if you are looking to re-charged your emotional batteries for an afternoon. There is something about Butterfly World that feels like you are just stepping into heaven (but you don't have to die to get there). They play classical music as you stroll through the gorgeous butterfly gardens with bubbling brooks and little benches hidden in the corners. They have a Lorakeet exhibit where you can buy cups of nectar to feed the birds as they fly around and land on your arms, head, camera...it is a lot of fun. They have a bird aviary and gorgeous gardens - you can even buy some plants to bring home to attract butterflies to your own garden! more

good but overpriced 6/20/2005

Its a nice place and pretty. You see butterflies that you have never seen. But the price is very high I think. If they had coupons out that were worth the ride and gas to get there I would go again. But Its just to expensive to go again... Dont get me wrong it is beatiful, but just to expensive. more
