I thought it would be a great place to go and spend somewhere between 500.00 and 700.00 dollars on radio control airplane stuff. Well to my surprise I was wrong. I needed some help with a airplane model and I ask a guy at the counter for some help showing me how to do this. Well he started and after a couple minutes he asked the owner if he really had to do this. Well she said no and pretty much told me to leave. So as far as I can tell they want your money but they in turn don't want to give you and service .Well I really want to thank them for sending me to Dubuque where they love to help you out. O and one more thing I wouldn't dial 911 if there store if it was on fire. Thanks have a great day. more

Planes, Trains, and More 11/30/2005

I thought that Box Kar Hobbies was for only trains. When my son need a model airplane part for a school project, I was surprised that the teacher recommended looking at Box Kar Hobbies. Yes, they have a ton of model train accessories but they also carry model airplane accessories. Found lots of things that I didn't even know existed. We had alot of fun browsing the store. more

Box Kar more than trains 8/6/2005

We are novices in the world of model railroading and have found the folks at Box Kar Hobbies to be a great help. They clearly love what they do and love sharing their hobby with others. My son recently purchased his first electric train, and they took the time to tell him about the different sizes of trains and types of track. They listened to his questions and helped him make a good choice. more
