Great Salon With Great Atmosphere 7/30/2006

I went to Blue Velvet and got not the traditional fuddy, duddy haircut. I feel 10 years younger. They had a great atmosphere and I will definitely go back for my next cut....Lately, I've been getting Brazilian Blowouts from Chelsea at Blue Velvet, and my hair is so much more manageable. I'm one of those who had curly hair my whole life, but for the first time, I am enjoying straighter hair. It's a great change! Pros: Lots of Talent more

Blue velvet saved my life!! 7/29/2006

I had terrible color and broken hair that was once long and thick but too much home-bleaching literally fried it off. Heather is my stylist and she does extentions. She gave me great color. I looovve this salon. Thanks Heather! Pros: Staff is real educated with corrective color Cons: I wish they were open til ten on latenights instead of nine. Thats pushing it I guess. more

Sorry, not recommended 7/26/2006

My hair was damaged at the salon. After this happend, I gave the stylist another shot, as I had been seeing her for a while. She then left my hair discolored. I pointed out discoloration in my hair and was told I could buy a product to fix it or come back another time, which disregarded my busy schedule. I was left with orange spots in my hair during an extremely important (and visible) event in my life. The owner Katrina is a miracle worker for color!! She has a very knowledgeable, honest, and down-to-earth approach, and keeps in mind the health of your hair when consulting about color and highlights. She is the only person that has ever been able to give me blonde highlights that didn't turn orange after a few washes, and she gave me a great color that wouldn't ruin my hair, after I made the mistake of dyeing it black and having it chemically relaxed (damaged!) somewhere else. more

I will never go back to this salon again. DIRTY, UNFRIENDLY and HATE MY HAIR CUT. Plus I got charge two times on my card for the same haircut, It was such a mess. Cons: DIRTY. more

Bitchin' Do's 6/22/2006

I found BV on citysearch, got an appt quickly... I gave Shanna the vaguest idea of what I wanted and she ran with it with the greatest of ease. I'm glad I trusted her, cause my hair looks friggin fabulous. It was in horrid shape before, and it actually looks healthier after she colored it. Very friendly, no pressure, cute & funky. Love the David Bowie art, too. more

I just had my hair cut by the owner of BLUE VELEVET, she cut my hair so short and my bangs look just like her's, she was very rude and cold to me, this salon is not the kind of salon I want to be in. NOT RECOMMENED. Cons: COLD, RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL more

Victoria at Blue Velvet!!!!!!!! 3/12/2006

I usually just tweeze my own eyebrows but at a friends suggestion i made an apointment with Victoria at Blue Velvet. Victoria shaped them perfectly and even showed me how to fill them in with eyebrow powder so i can keep them looking great. I never realized how important the shape of my eyebrows were until victoria did them. I can't believe how many people noticed the difference. I will never tweeze my own brows again.......I will be back to Victoria at Blue Velvet every month. Pros: inexpensive, friendly, helpfull more

Blue Velvet is Great! 3/10/2006

If you are in search of a new salon, I highly recommend Blue Velvet. I went there for the first time last month, and I must say Katrina did a great job with my hair. Even though she was under staffed on the day of my visit, she took the time to give me a great color and cut. She really knows what looks best on a woman. In the past I've always had problems styling my own hair after I've been to a salon. Not this time. My hair falls right into place when I style it. I will definitely go back to Blue Velvet again. more

Stacy is a miracle worker 2/15/2006

I had never been here and had been referred to Stacy through my roomate. I had had a terrible highlight situation about a year ago and have been trying to fix it ever since. Stacy gave me all over blond highlights that are shiny and natural and go amazing with my fair skin. She also is so quick and didnt pressure me to buy anything (although I did get the pearatin conditioner its so creamy). If you need wonderful coloring or highlights or espicially a fix up from a bad dye job ask for Stacy. Thank you!! more

VICTORIA is Awesome!!!!!! 2/8/2006

I've beeing going to VICTORIA for facials and waxing for a year now. Her facials are fantastic and so relaxing, and her eyebrow shaping is perfect everytime. Having had puffy eyes for awhile now Victoria suggested a new ""eye treatment"". Its was like a facial for your eyes. It instantly de-puffed them, and they had stayed that way for almost a week now. I highly recommend VICTORIA for all you waxing and skin care needs. more

Great Color Specialist 1/27/2006

First of all I hate getting my hair done by different people, so I have always gone to the same person...when she moved away I had find someone new. I found Blue Velvet on the Internet and made an appointment with the lovely Stacy. I was looking for a change in my color so I brought her some pictures of what I wanted, she made some suggestions and even looked through other magazines with me before she got started! Stacy was really quick with highlighting and the outcome was perfect! She did exactly what I wanted! Everyone has asked me who does my hair! I love telling them about Stacy because not only do you leave satisfied, but it's actually a fun experience. It's a hip atmosphere with great tunes playing and lots of stuff to look at while your getting all fixed up. more

Great salon, affordable, friendly 1/3/2006

I just moved here and was nervous to find a salon (and I do not know many people out here) So I gave Blue Velvet a try and I am so happy. Alladin did an amazing job on my hair. Listen to what I wanted and was fabulous! Plus it is not expensive!!! I would recommend it to anyone! more

Will never go anywhere else. 12/26/2005

After paying a lot of money for just okay haircuts, I finally found Blue Velvet online. Aladdin has given me the best haircuts I have ever received. A month later I am still getting compliments. Victoria is a fantastic aesthetician. She creates a calming environment. I have never once felt like I was just another appointment. Dissapointed and upset client 12/14/2005

My experience at this salon was so unprofessional. I got my hair done and honestly my hair color was green, my hair cut was chopped up and nothing even about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The salon was dirty and I did not enjoy myself at this salon. I was extremly disappointed in this salon.I sat there while I had to hear one of the staff talk about there sex life as they were doing my hair.
