Great Tropical Vibe, Great Food 9/16/2006

I had always wanted to eat at Bahama Breeze, and finally got a chance. My husband and I went there for lunch, and I was not disappointed. I loved the look of the place immediately, from the wood-paneled walls and wicker chairs to the bright tropical prints on the booth seats and the wall hangings. We had heard that the restaurant was pricey, but at lunchtime we found it only moderately so. I ordered jerk-pasted talapia and my husband had braised salmon with cajun spices. We both had mashed cinnamon sweet potatoes. His meal came with extra vegetables and mine came with delicious plantains, which are rare in these parts. The food was incredible, some of the best I have ever tasted. Every bite had my tastebuds screaming, "Yeah mon!" I STRONGLY recommend Bahama Breeze. For the two of us at lunchtime, our meal was less than $30, and worth every penny. more

A Fun Place with Great Caribbean Food 4/17/2006

I love the fun, tropical atmosphere at Bahama Breeze. The palm trees, dark woods, wicker, fire pit, high ceilings and live Island music all add to the casual fun in the large dining rooms. We met three other couples the night we enjoyed our Caribbean adventure at Bahama Breeze. Featuring lots of coconut and spice, the Island inspired menu is full of a deliciously unique variety. From Island Onion Rings (coconut-breaded with chili-horseradish and citrus mustard dipping sauces) to Tostones con Pollo (home-fried plantains topped with chicken, mushrooms and cheese) to Fire-Roasted Jerk Shrimp (simmered in garlic-thyme butter with warm Cuban bread), our appetizers were all incredible! Our party of 8 feasted on Cuban black bean soup with yellow rice, Angel Hair Pomodoro, Calypso Shrimp Linguine, Oak-Grilled Sirloin Palomilla, Jamaican Grilled Chicken Breast, Chicken Santiago - and all were scrumptious! For dessert we indulged in key lime pie, pia colada bread pudding, Dulce de Leche cheesecake and a wonderful chocolate and coffee mousse. There is a children's menu available, but don't waste this fabulous experience on them. more

Escape to the Tropics 4/17/2006

I don't eat at Bahama Breeze too often -- probably because it's a little pricey. But, when I do go, I enjoy both the food and the atmosphere. It's feative for special occasions (a friend's bachelorette dinner), but also good for a night out with a date. The menu features a variety of fish and seafood dishes (and we all know how healthy fish is for you!). I love the salmon and plantains! The menu also has chicken, beef, and pizzas for landlubbers. more
