I don't eat at Bahama Breeze too often -- probably because it's a little pricey. But, when I do go, I enjoy both the food and the atmosphere. It's feative for special occasions (a friend's bachelorette dinner), but also good for a night out with a date. The menu features a variety of fish and seafood dishes (and we all know how healthy fish is for you!). I love the salmon and plantains! The menu also has chicken, beef, and pizzas for landlubbers.

Lunches at Athens Pizza Kouzzina include your drink, a Greek salad and an entry. I for one love anything with feta cheese, so all of their pasta dishes and sandwiches are a big hit with me. The restaurant has a surprisely large lunch crowd -- the service is pleasant, but brisk. And, be sure to pick up a mint on your way out... you'll need it! :)

Subway is a good lunch spot -- I've been going to this particular Subway location for the last 10 years. You get your choice of bread and cheese and can choose from 10 or so different kinds of subs. With the many condiment choices, your possibilities for a distinctive sandwich are endless! I typically go for the turkey, piled high with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, peppers, etc. And, on Wednesday, when it's the daily special, it's a deal.

As a chain, Macaroni Grill is a step up from Olive Gardens. The restaurant is designed to invoke feelings of Tuscany and you can almost imagine that you are eating in another country. The food is not as good a value as Olive Garden, but tastes fresher. Instead of half-stale breadsticks, you get freshly baked bread to dip in olive oil and ground herbs. The entries include meats, pastas, calzones and pizza. One thing to note, though, is that the restaurant can get very crowded during peak hours and the noise level can be a little much.

Tuesday Morning is an interesting store. It actually closes every so often for a couple weeks (I've never really been able to figure out the schedule) and then reopens, freshly stocked with more discontinued items and close-outs. Sometimes the prices are quite high, but are supposely still a good deal ($1000 comforter is now $500!). And, every once in a while, you do stumble across some treasures. My mother-in-law recenty bought some beautiful pillows for $9, which retailed for almost $60.

Rack Room Shoes has a lot of shoes for men, women, and children -- dressy shoes and casual shoes; tennis shoes and sandals. Why then can I never find anything to buy at this store? I think part of the issue is the price. Even with sales, the prices seem high to me (remember, I'm a big cheapie). I was shopping with a friend at this store this weekend, and they had a buy one, get one half off sale. They has some cute sandals, but nothing wowed me and I left empty-handed.

Grayce Lynn is the same person (company?) who does the HUGE consignment sale at the Gwinnett Fairground each spring and fall. Unfortunately, Grayce Lynn's attempt at having a retail consignment store didn't pan out. I went to the store a couple times -- never seemed to get much business and I myself didn't purchase very much (did pick up a really cute Christmas outfit for just a few bucks).

I got my last pair of eyeglasses here. The service was fine (run by an older gentlemen at the time who was very polite but not overly personable), and the prices are reasonable. I think it took about a week or two for my glasses to come in, and they called me when it was time to pick them up. As an added bonus, they fixed my old broken glasses for free. I also ordered contacts -- the prices weren't so good for them and they ended up messing up my order on those.

I've gone to Dr. Winski a couple times. First, I went to him when he was an ophthalmologist at the Wal-mart Vision Center on Pleasant Hill, and then a couple years later when I went to new location because it was on my vision insurance plan, I ended up with him again. He prescribed the contacts that I am currently in and seemed pretty knowledgeable. I was a little turned off by him though when he seemed to be pushing me into investigating Lasik (his office does the procedure).

Not sure if this is the location we went through, but we had a horrible experience with Well Fargo Mortgage when we purchased our current home. We ended up having a larger mortgage than we had planned because we had to close on the new house before the sale of our previous house went through. The Wells Fargo associates did not offer any help (surely, they had seen this situation before) and we ended up with a PMI that we didn't want. We had been told that we could have it removed at any time, and a month later when we tried to do just that, they would not let us. The people we had worked with on our closing would not return our calls, and needless to say, we are no longer with Wells Fargo (did a no-cost refinance with another broker and ended up with a better interest rate so at least this story has a happy ending).
