A must visit! 5/17/2006

Don't be fooled by the name of this place. It's not really so much of a religious place as it is a landmark in Wilmett. This is one of the most beautiful structures in all of Chicago. Its very intricately designed and is surrounded by beautiful and well kept gardens. Whether you go here for a stroll around the gardens or to actually take one of their daily guided tours, you will for sure have a great time. Make sure to check timings though. It has shorter hours during the winter time. more

Breathtaking architecture 5/5/2006

After hearing so many wonderful things about Bahai, I went to see for myself. The temple itself is just breathtaking and the inside is just as beautiful. Once you enter the premises you somehow get a peaceful and serene feel from the place. They are surrounded by a lovely garden area which you may also enjoy. more

very nice temple 8/1/2005

Well, regardless of your religious convictions, the visit at the Baha'i temple on Linden St in Wilmette can be an interesting way to spend a day. The architecture is very nice, they have documentaries available to be seen in the small movie theatre downstairs - and the staff is very nice and knowledgeable, any questions you might hav do not hesitate to ask them. Nobody will try to convert you, they just answer the questions if you have any. And while there, take a moment and take a walk in the gardens around the temple. It can be a nice experience as a Chicago tourist or as a Chicagoan too. more
