You will find for sure lots of nice stuff in this grocery store- mostly european products, generally eastern european. (poland, greece, romania, slovakia). Th prices are much lower for the items usually labeled as gourmet food. My preffered brand of refrigereted goodies is Krinos, i find them the best. (the Krinos line has some other stuff that doesn't needs refrigeration ). But be careful when buying meat from here. the price is not much lower, some specialities- as the romanian skinless sausages- are not very good, it happened to me several times that I had to throw away the meat bought from them because it was spoiled. same thing happened with the kalamata pitted olives. The fresh produce- pick it carefully, sometimes it is alrady spoiled, especially if it is in the refrigerated area where they are most of the time too wet.

this is a small health store, across from Trader's Joe on Waukegan. they have a large line of homeopathic remedies- and the staff is very helpful, ask them anything if you are not sure what exactly you need for your problem. the store is small, so they do not have the space to carry many things, so they do have just a few food and drink items - organic mostly. ask the staff any questions she will recommend you ptoducts and even a homeopathic doctor.
nice store, great staff. same items/ brands sold at whole Foods with more you can get them here cheaper.

Nice staff. I would have expected that the staff in a kids' salon would be very young. But only the receptionist is in this age group. The salon is nice, especially for kids up to 4 yr age. They enjoy the time, everything looks like a great way to have fun: the little cars, the toys, the movies... The only stress comes from the toys for sale stands, situated in the middle of the salon and on the way in/ out. That's the only time you'll hear crying "Mommy, I want this car/ doll/ book/ train/ sticker" "No dear, you have another hundred of thesame thing back home, will not spend 3 times more for the same toy we can get online much cheaper" - than, crying. It would be nice to respect the time/ nerves of the parents too and not advertise their toys so aggresively.

It is the biggest library in the north suburbs I think.. Large, old building just across from Whole Foods on Church Street. The materials are many worn out, the technical part needs improving (the computers on which you make the research are so... old). the children dpartment is too small for all the materials they have and all the kids that come- it ca become fairly crowded very quickly. The parking can be a problem, it's paid parking with a 2 hour maximum limit, and usually is very crowded (as all dpwntown Evanston). Otherwise, the movie section is nice, and you can find many art movies unavailable- to rent- anywhere else.

Well, regardless of your religious convictions, the visit at the Baha'i temple on Linden St in Wilmette can be an interesting way to spend a day. The architecture is very nice, they have documentaries available to be seen in the small movie theatre downstairs - and the staff is very nice and knowledgeable, any questions you might hav do not hesitate to ask them. Nobody will try to convert you, they just answer the questions if you have any. And while there, take a moment and take a walk in the gardens around the temple. It can be a nice experience as a Chicago tourist or as a Chicagoan too.

OK, I admit, the location is very nice- in the Crossroads mall, it is close to everything. Shopping, eating. Several choices of each, for all budgets. But the theater looks pretty worn inside, the cleanliness is not very good, the popcorn is usually cold- or slightly warm- and you know how "good" id the smell of stale popcorn. That's the smell in the auditoriums.
If you don't mind the smell or lack of hygiene, than you'll enjoy your movie. if you can hear anything, or concentrate on the movie- the last time I was there, there was a lady with a crying baby (wouldn't you cry if you were a baby, it was dark and mommy wanted to see The War of the Worlds? ) - needless to say, nobody asked her to step out and let the rest of the audience enjoy the movie.

Situated in the old downtown Glenview (the new downtown tends to become the Glen Town Center on Patriot Blvd), the library is pretty small- and the parking is even smaller (hint: park your car in the large parking lot in Viccinos plazza- just across the street from the library-, you'll save a lot of time. In the library parking the time is limited to 2 hours, so if you want to stay more, go to the parking across the street).
The programs they have are nice, the children departmnt, though small, it is nice and always busy. The good news is that the library will move at some point in the future to a new location, in Glen Town Center area.

And the children department is a great place to spend a day with the children. Check out the programs they have for children. They do have great area for research, the technical part is great (meaning new). Overall experience is great, you can spend a day here and learn lots of ne things in a very nice atmosphere.

Nice location, nice and interesting things to see and learn. I think the most unique is the salmon exhibition with all the story of their travel upstream. The museum is pretty small though- smaller than I expected anyway. And on the upper level the smell of fish - or whatever combined smell is that- is awful.
other than that- intersting. Maybe it would be a good idea to make some major improvments to this aquarium.

Fields museum in Chicago is one of the best museums- with many permanent exhibitions - very interesting- and many interesting temporary exhibitions several times a year. Chances are that even if you went to see it couple of times, there is still something interesting to discover. You will need at least a whole day - so it is nice that actually you can have lunch on-site. (Corner Bakery is my favorite)- or you can pack a snack and stay at the tables at the food court.
nice and interesting way to spend a day.
