I agree.this place is way over rated....it seems that many Americans feel that being treated poorly goes hand in hand with fine dining which is ridiculous.\r \r I ate a herea couple of weeks ago and had to send back a dish that had the consistency of cardboard. They were initially incredulous that someone would send something back and were rude about it, then apologetic after someone in the kitchen checked it out and saw that it was WAY overcooked.\r They did not deal with my problem the way that they should have. especially their attitude\r We have not been back since, as there are other places here in Long Beach where excellent service and stellar food are much better and where they appreciate your business.\r Pros: Pretty Place. But you can't eat Pretty Cons: Bad attitude and the food needs work. more

Please get your act together 2/12/2010

I’m fully aware that you can’t judge a place on New Year's Eve, but I wanted to find a good place to go to an early dinner, ie, not an all-night event. We planned on having dinner and leaving the restaurant way before midnight. My friends as well as my wife and I are not big drinkers or partiers, but my wife and I am the foodie of the group, so what I'd like is really just a good meal, with or without the new year's ambiance Based on the news of the new place in town we all went here. First of all we felt we were being over charged, second the food was similar to wedding dood as was the fast and abrupt service. Some one should teach these servers how to serve and how to approach a person while they are STILL eating. I felt as if they were trying to get us out of there so that they could reuse the table. For that alone I would never return here.. I avoid going back to these restaurants who think they are doing you a favor. Why do we all accept this silly nonsense? Do they think that they are doing us a favor by taking our money? This restaurant was a rip off on food, price and service The staff seemed over-zealous, the food tasted very ordinary and average at best, definitely not worth the price we paid.. We were shocked on seeing our bill as it was the most we have ever paid in any restaurant even on New Years eve... That sums up our one and last experience here.. \r Pros: REALLY Nice looking place. Miami comes to Long Beach and NO BED BUGS 2/2/2010

This place is the best. I have stayed here 4 times already since it opened. I travel alot for work and stay here when I pass through JFK. The place is great. A happening atmosphere, exquisite food, and impeccable service. DO NOT BELIEVE THE RUMORS. The place has the finest linens and it is CLEAN as can be. It seems there are many people who want the hotel to fail so they are posting negative and NOT TRUE rumors. WE love it! Cant wait for the summer! Bed Bugs 2/1/2010

Allegria Hotel is horrible! We spend 2 nights there and were supposed to stay for 4 but it seems they dont clean their sheets. We got bed bugs!! My husband and I woke up with rashes all over our bodies. Went to the doctor and he confirmed they were bed bug bites. Cons: Itchy and a rash more

Althought very nice modern looking Hotel I had bad experience for service ; waited forever to have service Waiter dont know How to serve + food pricey really .at the end order Taxicab service was another dissapointed Cab was smells smoking and dirty... Breathe of fresh air in Long Beach 1/24/2010

Stayed here the other night while in town for business. Room is extremely nice beautiful views of the atlantic ocean Had Breakfast and Lunch in the hotel and the food was EXCELLENT Staff were great The gym on the roof is awesome! I will return in the summer Great Job! Pros: Clean Neat Tasteful more

I found this place not to be up to it's hype. Yes the hotel may be beautiful, but i did notgo there for the hotel, i went for the restaurant and although I was very impressed with the looks of the place the food and selection as well as the people working thjere let me down.\r Long Beach is in need for a really special place to go to on Saturday nights but unfortunately this resturant did not do it for me. Yes, the Hotel has terrific ambiance with a great bar scene.\r But I should have known by the lack of business on a Saturday evening... this was going to be a bad dining experience for everyone at the table. It took a while to order our cocktail after we are seated, as the waiter was pre-occupied. The salad was sent back because the lettuce was so soggy and it tasted like the fridge. Steak entree was pricey, and was not tender. . Server was not too helpful, it was very noisy, the menu was kind of sparse .That night but it wasn't great at all .. It was very disappointing ........... Pros: Very nice looking Cons: I could have done better elsewhere more

Stayed here with the wife the other night, First off let me say that anyone that says anything negative about the Atmosphere of this place is off their rocker. The developers did a fantastic job with the design. our hotel room was gorgeous, The bed linens were exotic and comfortable. The front desk people were VERY professional and service oriented. We had dinner at the Atlantica and the food was excellent. It is a very sophisticated blend of organic foods from all over long island farms. I decided to come here after the reviews that I found on line.. and was so excited until I actually ate the food. Big mistake. I didn’t see anything to rave about.\r Despite the marginal menu. The atmosphere was really very nice, all of the surroundings were very modern and inviting, I couldn't stop glancing around at everything around me. \r After reading the reviews, I didn't expect too much from the service which was substandard, and I wasn't surprised about either the food or the service If you want good food and service, this place is not for you. If you want to go for the atmoshpere, then n=by all means go.. \r As for the food: I got dish with shrimp and it basically looked and tasted like they poured some olive oil on top the shrimp. There was no flavor at all....maybe I should have asked them for a salt and pepper shaker. It seems like all the good reviews are about their weddings and not about the restaurant itself. \r This might be a very nice place to sit with your gf or bf to talk and relax. If you get lucky you can sit right near the fireplace on the couches and watch all of the people walk around ...If that’s your thing. It seemed as if lots of people go there for that. (people watching)\r What you are paying for is the experience of seeing their interior decor, the quality of their food or lack of it was nothing to make me go back again. Pros: Very nice atmoshhere. This place is overrated with a capital ""O"" and gets by with reputation more than food. First of all, Allegria is one of those places that's a kinda-sorta club and a singles hang out more than a restaurant. I was none too pleased with my experience here, mainly because of the service.\r The waiter was a really nice guy, but his serving skills needed more polish\r Service, slow...real slow, extremely slow ! It took close to an hour to get our entrees\r This is one of these places you want to come ONCE.. once is enough. the decor is really beautiful, “BUT”.. You can’t eat it. ..\r Food, uninspiring and I certainly was NOT wow-ed\r I’ve have had many better meals than this, with the price tag and quality of food.. im going to pass on going back to this restaurant !! Best new hangout in Long Beach. Period. 11/29/2009

Apparently taste is relative. I live in Long Beach, in the Walks, and every visit to this place has been exactly what I expected- and more. I knew that I wasn't in a West End joint with drunk-friendly portions of bar food, and knew that organic, crafted gourmet is not loaded with salt and other flavor disguises, again like barfood. Our family wasn't too sure how we felt about this place when we first heard about it, but they've won us over with their excellent customer service, unique/classy design and great organic food (plus, the lounge is kid friendly!). Pros: Great showing in a town that needs more... class Cons: Too many locals want it gone more

Not Impressed 11/23/2009

I can think of a lot of places in the Long Beach vicinity that we could have gone to and we would have had a better meal along with better service. And for a lot less money. Although the food looked good, it was so very tasteless, and very minuscule (small) potions. Although the food was unremarkable, the place itself was very beautiful, in fact maybe you could say it was kind of over-done and very pretentious, often a bit too extravagant. Maybe I expected more, but I was not impressed with the meal or the service which I thought was slow and amateurish . I know this is a Hotel ans is supposed to be famous for Weddings etc, but the restaurant’s food should not taste like Wedding (Catering) food Pros: Beautiful, But Cons: Don't care for the Foor or the Service more

Need to improve service 11/9/2009

I was not impressed by the service at all. First I drove up to the valet - there were 3 young men talking to each other - and nobody came up to my car. I had to interrupt their conversation and ask them if they worked for valet. I was the only person there and there was no line or anything. Next I walked into the lobby - which is small - and there were three people standing behind the reception area and nobody greeted me. Then I went up to the bar and met a friend to have a drink. The bartender was rude and when I asked if I could taste a glass of champagne before ordering it he didn't seem to like that and slammed the bottle in front of me with an empty glass and walked away. Eventually he returned and made a snide comment. The decor implies elegance, but the service is not up to par. Not going back. Pros: Contemporary Decor - But more appropriate for South Beach Cons: Poor Customer Service more
