Out of towners 4/16/2006

This is a great museum whether you are in the military, a military family or not. It shows the history in a way that is accessible to all. The exhibits are put for in such a manor to make them interesting even to children. My nephews favorite part and he is 12 is the simulator. He was fascinated by all the different displays of planes. This is a freebie you really don't want to miss, and great for your relatives from out of town. more

Suprisingly nice museum 10/4/2005

This new museum is located in downtown Fayetteville. This is the place to learn about the history of the 82nd Airborne. By the time you go through the main exhibits, you get 65 years of history. There is a great special exhibit called "“Soldiers: The Global War on Terrorism." This simulator is also very neat but not recommended if you have a weak stomach or get motion sickness. more

Airborne & Special Operations Museum 9/30/2005

The Airborne & Special Operations Museum is a great place for history buffs and for everyone who appreciates the military way of living. The lobby is very impressive. On one side of the wall was a list of recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor. These were the people who served the military that were either in the airborne or special operations unit. On another wall in the lobby was information on the establishment of airborne units and special operations units. This is a great opening for the museum and what lies ahead in the museum. Tghe museum offers statues, photographs, movies... and the most important of all, information. After your tour in the museum, you can visit the gift shop which is filled with memorabilias of your visit. They offer decals, hats, ornaments, shirts, etc. The best thing about the museum is that it's free... they want you to know about the Airborne & Special Operations history and not to be forgotten. more

WOW! 9/1/2005

what a great way to spend an afternoon with your children. This place is full of items related to the Army Airborne and Special Ops. Loaded with pictures and planes, it is free to visit. The only thing that costs is the flight simulator if you want to do it. There is plenty of good parking and it's clean and interesting. You will learn lots of interesting facts. Children and adults alike will benefit from a visit here. more

Showcase For Our Heroes 6/17/2005

The Airborne & Special Operations Museum is a museum that I would recommend anyone that comes to this area go and see at least once while you are here. They have displays there that tell you abut the history of the units located at Ft. Bragg, NC as well as other Airborne units around the world. When I first walked in, my breath was taken away by the sacrifices that our soldiers have made over time. One of the things that I liked most about the displays is the fact that they are set up like you are walking down the streets of a foreign country. The admission is FREE to the museum because the price of getting in has already been paid by the blood, sweet and tears of our soldiers. more
