Honest to the max! 12/29/2010

I have a '04 Acura TL. Accurate Autoworks has been servicing it since I bought it new. I have always been very pleased with their service and honesty. A few days ago, in the pouring rain, the well where the spare tire sits got filled with water. The movement of the car got the cover of the trunk soaked as well. I took it to them and Erik (ask for him!) said they would look and see where the water came from. He estimated a $200.00 value for the time they would take to look into it. A couple of hours later he called me to say that the fault had been theirs and that it would not cost me anything. A few months ago I had backed up into a metal structure and broken a rear light, which they replaced. He said that, during installation, the sealing foam around the part got "crimped", and that's where the water entered the trunk from. He ordered the part, they fixed it, and had someone pick me up from my house because it was raining-though I live withing walking distance to the shop. No one I t more

Accurate Autoworks is Scrupulously Honest 9/15/2009

I have been a loyal customer for many years and have recommended this auto shop to many people over the years. As a single woman, I can assure you they have never taken advantage of me, and have been nothing but helpful and blatantly honest about things that didn't need to be done on my car yet. I had an experience where my car was just serviced at Accurate Autoworks, but I had to take it to the Honda Dealership to have a recall issue replaced (Honda will not let non-Dealers provide recall replacements.) The Honda of Pasadena mechanics informed me that I needed $600.00 of repairs done on my car, they made up things that had just been serviced. It was so disgusting. When I pointed out to them I had had all these things already done, then they told me that they mixed my car up with someone else's car. In a world of dishonest mechanics and individuals making a fast buck, the guys are accurate autoworks, are total gems!! more

Excellent, able to fix things others could not. 5/5/2009

We have been using Accurate for several years now, with all of our Japanese cars. They are not the cheapest, but they are not terribly expensive and the work is consistently excellent.\r \r We had AC problems with a Prism/Corolla which we took to the dealer and he just couldn't fix it, then to another shop who had it in twice and couldn't fix it. Then we took it to Accurate and they fixed it and it has worked for the last four years.\r \r We've taken our Toyota Sienna, Acura Integra GRS, Honda Accord Hybrid, Mazda A3 and Chevy Prism/Corolla there. Everything is fixed well. more

a huge fan 3/10/2009

I have been taking my car in for several years. My experience could not be more different from the previous post, and I am also a single woman. I have always found the guys at Accurate to be scrupulously honest, highly competent, and glad to explain things in a way I can understand. My experience today was typical. I was told it just wasn't necessary to do my 60,000 mile service yet. I explained that I was heading to Lake Tahoe and wanted to make sure everything was ok. He went over my records with me and then decided to check the battery. He added some special coolant to the windshield fluid at my request. I was charged exactly nothing for this service. I will be their customer for a long long time. more

Caution! They will take advantage of you here! 8/27/2008

I was taken advantage in a major way by this place because I am a woman and I trusted them and kept coming back and they knew it! They are seem like very nice and friendly guys there. That is why I kept coming back. I would take my car in for a oil change and suddenly my car needed needed a huge repair like new transmission(which would have been under warranty at Honda, but they never told me). The "new" transmission they put in only lasted 1 year. I would get my brakes changed there and every 2-3 months I would need new ones. They had no clue why my car was a brake eatter. They even had the nerve to take me on a driving test to make sure I wasn't driving with one foot on the brake. Very manipulative. I would drive my car off the lot and then my window would fall out. NEVER THEIR FAULT. My car always came back with something missing or broken. I used to be towed back to them every few months because they told me my 2002 civic was a lemon! After I needed my 2nd transmission more

easy to work with 7/22/2008

I was impressed with the approach these folks take. I'm not a 'car guy' so besides the high quality work, their advice \r and easy going approach is why I come back.\r \r The front office folks (especially Ken) take the time to discuss what they're checking, which problems or items are worth fixing, and what types of parts to use. more

Fantastic, Honest Service 8/27/2007

I think this is the best auto shop I have ever had experience with. The guys who run it really know what they are doing and they are completely honest. They will *never* take advantage of you and sell you repairs you don't really need. They are also very patient and willing to carefully explain to you what is wrong with your car. They are genuinely interested in cars and genuinely care about their customers. Even if I moved 50 miles away from these guys, I would still try to go to them, especially for major repairs - they are that good. more

Great Service!! 12/11/2006

I have been a loyal customer for seven years. My Acura Legend had many problems with a crate engine and most always took it to AA. Once the owner even took it personally to my house when I'd flown out of state and needed it right after I touched down. I now have a 00 Honda and trust them with it's servicing. more

They fixed problems another autoshop caused! 5/24/2006

By the time I got to Accurate I was done with mechanics; we had a terrible time with Sanders Automotive in Altadena actually making my car worse than when we took it in and then not being able to fix it. We had already spent $1,400 at Sanders and they had my car for almost 2 weeks. The employees at Accurate were kind, knowedgable and reasonable. They fixed my car in less than a day and it runs better than ever before. And the price was very fair. I have already recommended them to a friend who is also very satisfied with them. I won't ever take my Toyota anywhere else. PROS: Everything, kind staff, fast service CONS: nothing more

Friendly local mechanics that you can trust 3/27/2006

These guys are the kind of mechanics you want to find and then pray they never close/move. Big enough to fix anything, small enough so they remember who you are, and honest in their assessments, estimates, and prices. I have been taking my Toyota Corrola (91) to them for the past two years and they have kept it running great.\r \r The first time I brought it in I was missing the hood prop and they had to order it. I was in a rush to get my car back and the part had not arrived so I went without it. Five months later I brought my car in for something else and the part was still waiting for me (my part that I had already paid 8$ for not a part they had in stock). more

Trustworthy and highly skilled 8/11/2005

I like this shop and the guys who run it. I have had my Accord serviced there for over 2 years including body work after two accidents. I was really impressed with the quality paint job and repair - my car looked perfect afterward. They are experienced and knowledgeable - and have enough legitimate business that they don't need to sell bogus services. On my first visit, they discouraged me from purchasing totally unnecessary services which a different shop had tried to sell me earlier that day. It's not a glamorous looking waiting room and the small parking lot is difficult to navigate out from, but the service and skills are top notch at this small shop. They can drop you off and pick up if you live nearby. Very complete service check-ups for you car. Oil changes are pricier than dealer but they don't try to sell you extras afterward. PROS: Fare and honest recommendations/labor CONS: busy at times, but they focus on you when it's your turn more

Everyone needs a good mechanic 8/8/2005

and Accurate Autoworks is that mechanic for anyone living in Pasadena. Everyone at AA is extremely helpful and knowlegeable about cars. They specialize in Hondas, Acuras, Toyotas and Nissans, but they fix everything. Pricing is very competitive and compared with Nissan service way cheaper. Plus they don't try to sell you additional services and/or parts that you don't really need. When they inspect the car, they always give good advice and recommendations but they're not pushy, so if you want to wait and bring in a cheaper part you found yourself, they'll install it. Over all - very helpful staff and very good service. They'll answer all your questions and stand by their job with good warranty. more

great service 7/22/2005

Very good shop. The staff was very knowledgeable and polite. They were very patient in answering all my questions, even took me to the shop and showed me and explained in detail what was wrong and not wrong with my car. They were honest and didn't try to sell me things I didn't need, rather gave me a report and their recommendations. As I know little of the technical stuff, they could have sold me a big repair job, but they recommended to try stage one before plunging into stage two of the repair, which turned out to the the right decision, which saved me more than 50%. Very good service and not crowded during weekdays. I went for a brake inspection, they charged $36 for it where in some other places you can get it for free (although you won't get the same quality service--I know because I had it done in one of those free places and they damaged my brakes and refused to own up the problem). The inspection was done in less than 30 minutes (the mechanic had to delay his own lunch time more
