I shopped around for a set of tires so I knew my choices when I called them. This is helpful as I found they *will* negotiate and match or beat any price that you have gotten somewhere else. In my case they even matched the price I got on a similar tire (but not identical) at Costco, including Costco's promotional $60 off a set. So I was happy with the price which I negotiated over the phone. When I arrived the promised price was honored and I drove out with new tires in less than 1/2 hour. They even neatly reinstalled my doughnut spare in the compartment. I'd highly recommend them.

I can't believe how friendly and knowledgeable the staff are. Without pressure, a mechanic will honestly tell me the problem with my car, give me a fair (cheaper than most all auto shops I have ever visited) estimate, and honestly tell me the amount of time I have to fix the problem- whether or not I have the repair done at their shop! I have had my brakes changed at this auto shop before and I can honestly say that they have used only the top of the line brake pads- Volvo S40 OEM. I know- I checked it out! As a chick, I trust this place. Also, check out the bathrooms- clouds everywhere. They incorporate the island theme through-out the entire shop- the fresh pastries and Kona coffee in the waiting room is to die for! I think the owner is Hawaiian or something.
PROS: friendly staff, OEM products, fast reliable service, clean bathrooms,

I've been going here for over 10 years. They always take care of me and my family. Their prices on tires and brakes destroy the local chain and franchise tire shops. Just bought a set of new tires 2 weeks ago and got an amazing deal. If your in or around Pasadena this is the place to go.

This auto store is so great. They really take the time to explain and try and help you with all your automobile needs. They don't try and sell you special unnecessary add ons either. I am always very happy to shop at this store. Forget Pep boys! This store is awesome.
PROS: Helpful!
CONS: Tiny tiny store and if they don't stock what you need it may have to be special ordered. Sometimes it takes 2 visits.

I like Pep Boys for basic parts - air filters, headlights, car wash, etc. I don't exactly go there for my brake pads and that sort of thing, but it's a cheap place to get the cheap and often replaced parts. I find that the employees usually aren't all that useful, so I don't really bother asking them for help. The prices are pretty cheap. It's not exactly the cleanest store in town.

I walked in ready to buy a new car, but I ended up leaving and buying my car at another Volvo dealership. The salesperson at Rusnak Volvo was absolutely rude and unprofessional. He was pushy and called me stupid because I wanted the car at a certain price (I ended up buying the car for even less!). Then, he started to grab the piece of paper that I was holding, saying that he wanted to see what sort of research I had done on the car. Never mind it wasn't research. Although others in the dealership could overhear this salesperson raising his voice and acting hysterically, no one -- including the manager -- stepped in. Apparently, this is not an unusual occurence @ Rusnak.
There should be a rating lower than "Not Recommended" for this place!

I spoke with Gary at American Tire Depot on a Tuesday and asked if they carry the Falken ZE-512 tires. He said they could order them from the manufacturer and have them for me the next day, but also questioned my desire for Falken's and recommended some Raptor tires they had in stock. I wanted the Falkens, so I tell him to order them. Wednesday comes and goes... no tires. At the end of the day Thursday Gary tells me the manufacturer is out of stock and the tires I need are on National Backorder, but they still have these other Raptor tires they can install before the weekend. So, I call the manufacturer and they tell me the Falken tires I need are indeed in stock! At this point I've been lied to and I'm screwed. No other tire company has the Falken's in stock, they have to be ordered and won't be available to install before the weekend. American Tire Depot put me over the barrell, but I bit the bullet, ordered the Falken's from another tire company, and had them installed the following Tuesday. Bottom line... they're dishonest and I won't do business with them again.
