Went to A' La Mode after reading all the fantastic reviews on citysearch and im glad i did! As soon as i walked in the door, i was greeted by Alina, the owner/stylist and Baxter, her assitant. Both very very friendly and funny. I showed Alina a picture of the style that I wanted and it came out PERFECT! I really like Alina and Baxter's personality, they were so warm and friendly and i felt like i had been there so many times even though it was my first time! The salon is super clean, inviting and modern. I would recommend this place to everyone because it is not pretentious at all. Just great service, smiles and quality work! At the end, i was very delighted at how my hair looked, the cost (very reasonable) and the fact that Alina was very honest and not pushy! she told me honestly not to get my hair colored (even though it would've made her earn more that day) and did not push me to buy products. (though i wish i did!!!) Will come here again and bring my husband, friends and family! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! Thanks Alina and Baxter for an amazing first time salon experience!:)---jen more

I just moved into town, not knowing where to get a haircut without going to one of those schools where students chop my hair as if they were shaving a sheep. Thanks for facebook I was friend requested by A La Mode Hair Studio, they messaged me needing models for their salon, which was perfect timing since I needed a hair cut. The people there were amazing very welcoming and friendly, great environment very clean and has a sheik look to the place, very modern. The women working there are all beautiful and know what they are doing. besides all that the haircut was perfect! Exactly how I like it worth every minute and penny of it.. The place is terrific. more

I Love Love Love my hair!!! All thanks to Madai! She Colored, Cut & Styled my hair, & she's amazing at what she does! What I did was show her a pic of the kind of hairstyle I wanted & guess what??? Yes! She did exactly that! I love it so much! Im definitly going back to Madai again! Awesome customer service! It's true that you can't please everyone, but it seems that a great majority are quite pleased with their experience. You might ask why it matters what others have said. Well, my experience has been amazing, and I gladly pass along the info of the salon when people ask me where I get my hair done, but I feel reassured that I'm not an exception so if I refer friends and family, I know that they too will have be pleased with the service. It's true that you can't please everyone, but it seems that a great majority are quite pleased with their experience. You might ask why it matters what others have said. Well, my experience has been amazing, and I gladly pass along the info of the salon when people ask me where I get my hair done, but I feel reassured that I'm not an exception so if I refer friends and family, I know that they too will have be pleased with the service. I get my hair cut and colored on a regular basis. I have a very demanding career and unfortunately am not blessed with hours and hours that I can spend in a salon so I appreciate the fact that my appointment time is respected. I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes, and that's been usually because I've arrived a few minutes early. The new location is clean, sleek, and modern. Unlike some places, the product shelves are spotless!!! The refreshment area has cookies, coffee, and juices so in case you're always on the go alike me, you can have a small snack to avoid passing out. The staff is professional, polite, and friendly. Unlike some of the well-known salons in the city, the staff actually greets you when you walk through the door. They are attentive and happy to assist you should you need anything. Now about what really matters: my hair! A bad hair day for me translates to an off day so when it comes to my appearance, my hair is top priority. I change my hair style every couple of years, and because I have fine hair, I'm limited to certain cuts. To date, I've been thrilled with my haircuts. And my current color is so rich and fantastic! I'm a tough critic, but I've been pleased so far. Interestingly, even random strangers have complimented me on my hair cut as well as color! I'd like to leave you with this: you MUST communicate to your stylist what you like and what you want when it comes to your hair. He/she cannot read your mind. Search the internet and take pictures of the cut that you'd like to have. And remember to have realistic expectations. For those of you who watched "Friends", you know that having the "Rachel" didn't mean you also looked like Jennifer Aniston! I'm always struck with ideas for my hair that, to me, seem great -- however, it's seemed like I'd never be able to find a hairstylist who could actually pull off my "visions". She's accomplished everything for me, and every time she's done with me I'm always getting comments on how great I look -- she dyed my hair a perfect snow white (which is a near impossible feat), with minimal damage and no hair loss; next, she put my hair in braids (takes hours, but you'll have so much fun talking with Rosie I guarantee you won't notice). Everywhere I went people would come up to me telling me how cool my hair was. And after the braids got old, she helped me achieve a gorgeous, classic platinum blonde bob. Having gone through so many different hairstyles with her, I can definitely vouch for her versatility and talent. Not only do I have a flawless classic cut right now, but she's also proven herself capable of funky, hip, and cool hairstyles. She really makes sure that whatever vision I have will make me look more beautiful (rather than just merely more weird). Wow I needed to "pop" for my family reunion. Rosie accepted me as a "walk in" and did an amazing job. I thought I was ok with my basic style but thankfully she wasn't afraid to break down what would look better. I felt 10 years younger when I left and my family was amazed. Everyone in the shop is supportive of each other. I wouldn' t think of going any other place. Rosie is beautiful and talented! Pros: Amazing architecture and performance! more
