I recently moved out of Spyglass summer 2007. My family and I are long time residents of Mansfield, TX. I am ashamed that this business is in operation considering the way they've treated residents like me.
We didn't receive a water bill for months on end, but our eviction notice came when the apartment office staff failed to send a water bill. There is only one trash dumpster and it was emptied once a week. The trash around that one dumpster would get very big on the weekends and the days right before the trash was dumped. In our second month living there the trash was not picked up for over 2 weeks. You can't imagine how much garbage was in the area of the only dumpster.
Electric bills are very high here. Our small one bedroom apartment averaged over $225 in the spring months long before it ever got hot. If you live downstairs be ready to hear everything your upstairs neighbors do! Parking is very difficult after 6pm. On the weekends don't even try to get a spot near your building!
*************************The worst part about living at Spyglass is the manager Abby and office staff such as Megan. They do not explain the complicated lease terms upon move in. NO matter if you paid all your rent on time, left the apartment totally clean, and checked out early (like we did and didn't request or expect a refund) you'll be sent a $600 bill. And they will not give back your deposit. Abby makes no effort to call you on the phone or send the bill to a proper forwarded address when problems like this occur. Instead she is quick to turn you over to collections. **********************
Please be very careful when you rent here because the manager will do everything to make sure your rental history and credit history is ruined if you decide to move out. Not worth it!
Pros: This complex is in a wonderful community of Mansfield that they are working to trash it's reputation.
Cons: Management (Manager Abby and Megan) are unprofessional, rude, and misleading.
