In the week since my "Oprah makeover," I've had more compliments and "You look great!" comments than I can remember in a lifetime, making my trip from Arizona for the weekend well worth the time and expense. In May, I read Christopher's book over a weekend and called that Monday for an appointment, with a focus on a haircut with him, and a style consultation with Joanne (it's WAY past time to clean out some closets!). After losing my job of 25 years in 2009, I started my own business (I'm 67), and recognized that how I look says a great deal about the company, making investing in my image - which needed polishing, and some tips to make the best use of all that makeup in my bathroom drawer - a wise choice. Coincidentally, I was speaking at a conference last Tuesday, three days after my ReVamp: a perfect launch moment for my "Comeback." The day was a treat from start to finish, from the warm welcome at the front desk to the caring and friendly attitude of everyone on the staff, and even the other customers I had the chance to chat with. Even more than Christopher's cut - a redo of my current style, which he agreed worked well - his advice on how to create the look we both liked has helped me, every day...and I'm inept with my hair, so that says a lot. Joanne's style analysis concluded the day: the concept of measuring your body vertically, not just horizontally (which Christopher explains in the book) makes SUCH a difference in choosing flattering and appropriate styles, and letting go of those that don't work. From my eyebrow waxing with Sara, to Amanda - whose skill gave me the golden red color I wish I'd been born with, to the expertise Cami passed along about foundation, concealer and especially eye makeup (many of those compliments I've been getting are due to her tips!), it was a day that will pay dividends for years to come. The Before and After photos, taken by the wonderful Robert, will be good reminders not to let things slip...and I'll schedule an annual visit to be sure! Lastly, I've loved that my women friends are intrigued by the process, and eager to learn more. Christopher, tell your publishers to get ready for another print run: I'm recommending you, the book and the ReVamp experience to everyone I know! Pros: Warm and skillful team, creating "your best you!" Cons: I live in Arizona!
