Review content:
I've been in this store several times and they seldom have what I'm looking for. If they don't have it, they don't make much of an effort to get it. The final straw was today: Seth answered the phone and told me he had the hoses I needed for an above-ground pool (but they'd been backordered for a month), so I went down to the store, found what I needed, and asked him about a skimmer hose. He promptly took the two hoses I'd selected and set them aside, telling me that they "were to be set aside for a customer who'd pre-paid for them over a month ago", then told me he only had one available!!! I have NEVER seen this before. It is TERRIBLE business practice to take a product out of a customer's possession and hold it for someone who isn't even there! If the items had been set aside and marked for someone else (preferably where I couldn't have picked them off a shelf), fine. But when I chose them, matched them with the ones I had to make sure they were what I needed and was about to pay for them, only to have them taken away, I was stunned. So much, in fact, that I had no idea what to say. He offered to order what I needed and to sell me the one remaining hose. What audacity? What stupidity!!! A total moron, if you ask me. Hindsight tells me that I made a smart move by walking out of that place rather than creating a scene by wiping the floor with his sorry ass. You'd be doing yourself a favor by purchasing your supplies elsewhere. I found a place on Dyer called U-Do-It, run by some very knowledgeable young men who had EVERYTHING I needed in stock. I will never set foot in Leslie's Overrated Pool Supplies again and I hope I don't cross Seth's path. What a sorry excuse for a business. Jim Maynard (July 23, 2010). Pros: Open when you're awake Cons: Short on Supply -- Shorter on Service
