My husband and I have a fondness for privately owned Katy businesses. I believe that if we don't want to get stuck with nothing but chains, we should patronize the places that we would like to stick around. Our first visit to the Wine Spot was on Friday, April 4th. I knew the moment I walked in that this place would be perfect for a shower or party. My husband ordered a cheese and fruit plate. The presentation was lovely. The cheese and fruit went perfectly with the red wine we ordered. I had an appetite for more than cheese, fruit, and bread so I ordered the spaghetti special. I've been to Italy, every Italian restaurant in Katy, and most of the good ones in Houston. This was the BEST SPAGHETTI I've ever eaten. The pasta itself was incredibly fresh tasting and the meat sauce was better than any I've ever had. The side salad that accompanies the spaghetti tasted super fresh too. The service was friendly, quick, welcoming....simply perfect. We're so fortunate to have such a unique place in Katy. Prior to leaving, we viewed several private rooms and left hoping that we can try them all. They have several private theme rooms available and they look like so much fun. The Paris room has a dining table with a mural of the Eiffel tower at night time on the wall. It's lovely! The Carribean room has a beautiful mural of the Carribean Sea and light colored furniture to match the mood. Another room had a mural of a vineyard. It's obvious that a creative person put great thought into creating this escape. I Love it! This is the only place that I've found in our area with such an extensive wine list, reasonable prices, and delicious food options. I noticed that they have beginner wine classes and other wine classes a couple times a month. Try this place and you'll love it! Pros: Ambience, Service, Food, Wine Cons: none
