If this restaurant was outside of new york city, it would be great. The food (especially the salmon) is overall pretty good, although a bit heavy, and i love the free bread with olvie tapenade (yum!). But for the price, I'd expect a better overall experience; it is just not competitive in the new york market. I've been here twice because I live close by, and both times I've been left with the impression that it's a bit too expensive for what you get. In a place like new york, where there are so many restaurants, you can get food equally as delicious with better decor and less awkward wait staff. Pros: the food, the fact that i can walk downstairs and eat here Cons: awkward wait staff, decorations that look like grandma's living room
